  • Own end‑to‑end delivery of MSWC’s Canadian insurance platform, from strategy through implementation and scale.
  • Develop business cases for investment in people, partners and technology; align across Wealth, Risk, Compliance, and Operations.
  • Define business requirements for core platform capabilities, including CRM integration, case management, document workflows, e-signature, illustration tools, reporting, and analytics.
  • Partner with Technology and vendors to deliver solutions that prioritize advisor experience, operational control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with US and other international jurisdictions spotlighting global partner education and other business development activities.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Design and embed a compliance-ready governance framework aligned to Canadian insurance distribution requirements and internal controls.
  • Establish and document operating policies, procedures, and escalation frameworks.
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to privacy, suitability, complaint handling, record retention, and conduct‑risk standards.

Advisor Experience & Enablement

  • Define target-state advisor workflows and client journeys across core insurance use cases (protection, estate planning, business succession, retirement income/annuities).
  • Build scalable advisor enablement including training, playbooks, discovery tools, needs-analysis approaches and referral pathways.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to drive advisor engagement while operating within regulatory and firm policy constraints.

Partner & Vendor Management

  • Own the full partner lifecycle across carriers, MGAs, and service providers, including selection, due diligence, contracting, and performance management.
  • Establish service standards, SLAs, governance cadences, and issue-resolution processes to ensure quality, scalability and competitive positioning.

Operating Model & Insights

  • Build a consistent, compliant end-to-end insurance case management operating model covering application, underwriting, placement, delivery, and in-force service.
  • Lead insurance data analysis, reporting, and dashboards to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of firm capabilities and contribute to the evolution of the systems and tools that support the business.
  • Management of ongoing sales activity and field engagement including product and carrier trainings, developing training materials and thought leadership, and interfacing with internal sales groups

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Life Insurance license (LLQP) in at least one Canadian province; ability to obtain additional provincial licensing as required.
  • Post-secondary degree required (Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Canadian insurance distribution and/or wealth management.
  • Proven experience working with wealth management firms and/or MGAs (e.g., platform build, distribution strategy, case management, or advisor coverage).
  • Strong knowledge of life insurance, annuities, segregated funds and living benefits distributed through wealth channels.
  • Experience building or scaling an insurance platform or serving as an estate/insurance specialist supporting HNW advisors.
  • Familiarity with insurance technology systems (i.e. DTCC, iPipeline)
  • Professional designations (CFP, CLU, CHS, etc.) and bilingualism (English/French) are assets.

LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES

  • Result-oriented, self-starter with strong execution discipline.
  • Strong organizational prioritization and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Collaborative, with the ability to operate independently in a regulated environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
