Brown & Brown Canada has an exciting opportunity available for a Commercial Marketer supporting our Markham & Toronto team!

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Prepare New Business Coverage Analysis with different options for the Client Advisor (CA) to review and present to clients for binding.

  • Retrieve applications and underwriter information from CA for new business submission to the market.

  • Place bind orders with insurers once accepted by clients and approved by CA.

  • Advise Technical Service Assistants (TSA) on instructions for invoicing and certificate issuance.

  •  Ensure all correspondence is attached and documented in the Business Management System (BMS).

  • Hold bi-monthly New Business Meetings with CA’s when needed if influx of outstanding information.

  • Answer client questions regarding coverage and limits.

  • Create and maintain schedules of insurance.

  • Obtain signed finance agreements.

  • Update Acord applications and order MVRs.

  • Follow up with CA to ensure completion of the Insurance Coverage Review Checklist.

  • Quote all lines of coverage as requested by the CA.

  • May be requested to assist on remarketing of retention business.

  • CM is responsible for obtaining new business submissions from the Client Advisor and must be knowledgeable on coverage lines and markets who specialize in specifics lines of coverage.

  • The Commercial Marketer (CM) electronically receives the completed application form or survey along with the Insurance Marketing Form (IMF) from the Client Advisor (CA).

  • CM presents options to the CA in the form of a coverage analysis in order compare quotes and coverages.

  • CM sets up commercial code under prospect in the BMS and electronically alerts CA of the prospect code.

  • CM reserves the right to remove markets approached and add new markets to approach through a consultative process with the CA.

  • CM receives quotes and declination and attaches to BMS for CA review on the marketing tracking report prepared by the CM when new business quotes are received.

  • CM receives questions or additional subjectivities for completion from insurer and alerts CA of the requested information. Correspondence attached by CM to BMS.

  • CM electronically transfers prospect code to client code for bound risk.

  • Post binding, CM attaches late quotes, late declinations and additional correspondence to active client screen and provides insight regarding the risk to the CSA.

  • CM reports directly to the Director of the Commercial Division.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • MUST HAVE 2+ years of insurance experience in Commercial Lines.

  • RIBO license required.

  • Minimum of high school diploma.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. 

  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from carrier representatives, customers, and groups of employees.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule.

  • Knowledge of Applied, Excel, Word, and Outlook programs preferred.

  • Efficient on EPIC - BMS systems.
