Inside Sales Representative

Sunbelt Rentals--the fastest growing rental business in North America--is seeking an Inside Sales Representative.

Position Objective:
The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) position will be responsible for driving incremental sales revenue for assigned depot sales territories through the identification of new prospective customers, reactivation of dormant accounts, and supporting increased sales productivity. The ISR will reach new, dormant, and existing customers utilizing a number of different approaches such as project database mining, phone contact and follow-up, email, fax, web inquiry handling. Will increase sales productivity by working with OSR’s and the Depot teams to support customer-facing processes such as handling customer sales inquiries, assisting with sales quotations, and customer communications. The successful candidate will work very closely with the Outside Sales team, Customer Service Representatives, Depot Managers, and Product Manager.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify and call prospective and existing customers in designated market areas to qualify leads and explain products and services offered. This will include cold calling.

  • Deliver sales leads to the Outside Sales team. Close sales leads directly when possible.

  • Demonstrated added-value approach to customers by identifying appropriate solutions based on an understanding of their needs

  • Daily use of sales leads services (i.e. Dodge, Blue Book, Builders Exchange, Construction Journal) to identify, track, and follow-up on new work bidding or awarded to contractors

  • Coordinate with Marketing to reach targeted prospective accounts (email campaigns, sales and marketing materials, case studies, presentations)

  • Contact dormant accounts in designated market areas to reintroduce and explain products and services offered

  • Understand why dormant accounts became inactive. Work with the Sales and PC staff to develop a plan to generate new business from these accounts

  • Deliver sales leads to the Outside Sales team. Close sales leads directly when possible.

  • Focus on increasing sales productivity

  • May assist OSR’s with customer quote requests, engineering requests, orders, contracts, billing disputes, problem solving, etc. Close sales leads directly when possible

  • Handle sales inquiries and customer assistance requests

  • Daily input and update of CRM system with pertinent sales, customer, and marketing data such as: new prospects, new projects, project status, application type, customer type, estimated start dates, quote requests, engineering requests, lost reasons, etc.

  • Support customer retention strategies and plans

  • Coordinate internally to expedite sales process

  • Achievement of individual and team assigned revenue and productivity-based sales objectives and metrics

  • Accurate and regular tracking and reporting on metrics, projects, and progress

  • Promote a team environment with co-workers and other departments

  • Promote internal and external customer service excellence

  • Adhere to and uphold safety standards

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1-2 years’ business-to-business Inside Sales experience, preferably in a construction-related industry

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, customer-focused environment

  • Demonstrated success cold-calling, reactivating dormant accounts, and in engaging prospects and customers

  • Excellent sales, communication and listening skills

  • Proficiency using systems such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM, McGraw Hill Dodge Reports, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, or equivalent

  • Technical and mechanical aptitude to understand construction equipment and engineered application in the field

  • Spatial reasoning required and ability to read blue-prints and plans strongly preferred

  • Analytical capabilities to interpret data, generate reports, and understand full external and internal sales and customer service processes

  • Ability to travel 10-20% within region. Occasional overnight travel

  • Ability to visit customers and prospects in office and construction site settings as needed

  • Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours

Physical Demands:
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. Base Pay Range

60,954.00 - 83,811.20

Total compensation package includes base pay, company vehicle, and robust commission plan.
