Based in Ottawa, our Inside Sales Representatives sell research products in Canada through various channels.

A Day in the Life:

  • Develop and maintain effective customer relations with purchasing and end users within assigned territory
  • Make independent decisions, collaborate with teams, build connections within accounts for networking.
  • Perform sales calls and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory primarily by phone, but face-to-face customer meetings may be required
  • Monitor competitor and industry updates, integrate data into business plan, and launch new products/services.
  • Manage pricing and negotiate within territory to control profitability
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files vital for proper management of territory
  • Connect with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems, perform other tasks assigned by manager
  • Advise customers of supply and price trends and assist in inventory control, consults with customers
  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in the sciences

Experience

  • 2+ years sales experience OR lab experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Fully bilingual in both English and French
  • Proficiency in establishing goals and achieving results
  • Must possess a strong desire to serve the customer
  • Must deliver excellent customer service
  • Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed
  • Must be willing to travel to customer locations, if needed
