We are looking for a Inside Sales Engineer - Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers who shall have responsibility and accountability for sales of Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers to the assigned Market accounts.  Targeted industry segments include Gas Processing, Gas Compression, Power Generation, Carbon Capture and Data Centers. Target customer types include Packager and System-builder accounts in Gas Compression, Processing, and Power Generation, Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Companies, and End Customers for retrofit or upgrading projects.

The primary focus of this role is to protect and expand our business within gas processing, gas compression and power generation market. The role also involves proposing Alfa Laval’s Air Products as upgrade or replacement of the other cooling technologies as well as replacing older Alfa Laval equipment and competitor air-cooled exchangers.

Duties of the role:

  • Drive profitable sales growth in the assigned industry areas, with particular attention to developing business areas of high potential.
  • Select, design and configure products and solutions according to customer specification using Alfa Laval’s configuration tools. Prepare and communicate technical clarifications (or deviations) as needed.
  • Develop value-based quotes reflecting the customer needs, stressing the unique selling points and benefits to the customer.
  • Be active in the market and interact frequently with customers, online and in real life, to build strong relationships as a trusted partner, and provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Analyze and understand market insights and the customers buying behaviour and make sales plans according to the business division strategy and targets, by working closely with the experienced sales team leaders.
  • Use the company's CRM and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process, take decisions, and follow-up on sales opportunities.
  • Prepare and coordinate order handover to our Order Fulfilment team, and Project Management
  • Assist the other members of the Energy Air-HX Sales and Process HX team in a supporting or backup role as needed.
  • Occasional travel in our primary business area for development of business, or internationally for training/internal meetings.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION DESIRED

Education (degree or years) and/or Certification/Registration:

  • Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist diploma.  Preference (though not mandatory) for Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum disciplines / competencies.

Type and Length of Experience:

  • 3 to 10 years post-education in the targeted industry segments.

​Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes Desired in Candidate:

  • Self-starter, self-initiates sales plan for prospects and customers.
  • A working technical knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics is an advantage
  • Effective problem solver, a self-starter, detail oriented, service-minded and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Insight / experience into common unit operations, and customer values in given segments.
  • Creation and Follow-through of a Business and Strategy Plan to drive success in assigned business area.
  • Demonstrate excellence in verbal and written communication, good personal organization and be proficient in the use of computers
  • Ability to build relationships, both with customers and with team members in various roles.
  • Ability to be collaborative within the Alfa Laval local and global team

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (i.e., travel, motor vehicle use, etc.)

  • Occasional travel within Canada to meet key customers or participate in events (<10%), and internationally for training
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in home province (car/passenger vehicle only), and the ability to travel by airplane.

Compensation & Total Rewards
The salary range for this role is $80,000– $115,000 CAD annually, based on experience and role alignment. In addition to base compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth and development.

Bonus Opportunity

This position is eligible for a target bonus of up to 25% of annual base salary depending on experience, awarded based on the achievement of company performance metrics. Actual bonus amounts are contingent on annual business results and may vary accordingly.
