Meet Benevity
Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!
High-Level Overview
The Infrastructure Operations Administrator reports to the IT Manager and is a key driver in evolving our SaaS-first ecosystem. While the Service Desk ensures our people are supported, you ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for the future.
You aren’t just maintaining the status quo; you are looking under the hood of our tech stack - primarily Okta, Jira, and our SaaS portfolio to create efficiencies and translate business requirements into technical reality. You will act as the bridge between business needs and IT execution, using data-driven insights to improve how Benevity operates.
What you’ll do:
- Systems Optimization: Take ownership of the health and performance of our core SaaS infrastructure (Okta, Jira, Kandji, etc.), ensuring high availability and seamless integration.
- Business Intake & Translation: Act as the primary IT point of contact for business changes. You’ll intake requirements from various departments and design the technical workflows needed to initiate those changes.
- Advanced Automation: Leverage Okta Workflows and API integrations to automate manual processes, reducing "toil" for both the IT team and the wider business.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Apply IaC principles to manage SaaS configurations, ensuring changes are version-controlled, peer-reviewed, and repeatable.
- Data-Driven Insights: Analyze system logs and ticket trends to provide actionable insights. You’ll identify bottlenecks in our infrastructure and propose long-term architectural improvements.
- Security & Governance: Partner with the Security team to enforce Zero Trust principles, manage lifecycle automation, and ensure our SaaS sprawl is governed and cost-effective.
- Vendor Strategy: Participate in the evaluation of new SaaS products and manage technical relationships with existing infrastructure vendors to ensure we are maximizing our ROI.
What you’ll bring:
- A post-secondary qualification in IT or equivalent experience (minimum of 5–7 years in IT Operations or Systems Administration).
- Current or in-progress certification in hardware/software troubleshooting (e.g., A+, Network+)
- Deep expertise in Okta (specifically Lifecycle Management and Workflows) and Jira Service Management administration.
- Experience in a corporate IT setting, with knowledge in DNS, SMTP, Firewalls/NAT, and WIFI
- Proven ability to use scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and APIs to connect disparate systems.
- Familiarity with macOS management at scale using Kandji or Jamf, specifically through an automated, zero-touch deployment lens.
- Experience taking high-level business requests and turning them into technical project plans or automated workflows.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code principles
- A strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to both work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
