Working from the ATC Canada office in Mississauga will be required for a minimum of 3 days per week.
Role Overview
The role includes a full uplift of Cognos Business Intelligence 10 to Cognos Analytics 12, ensuring over 370 existing reports continue to function post‑upgrade and align with the native ecosystem. The IBM Cognos Analytics Lead is responsible for owning this Cognos modernization track end‑to‑end from inventory and uplift through governance, testing, environments, and cutover in tight coordination with IBM, Accenture, other technical teams, and the client.
This role is critical to meeting the obligations involving environment provisioning, reporting readiness, cloud hosting requirements, and stakeholder decision cycles.
Key Responsibilities
Cognos v12 migration and modernization
- Lead the uplift from Cognos BI 10 to Cognos Analytics 12, ensuring all legacy reports are migrated, validated, and realigned with native data structures and integrations.
- Oversee redesign or rationalization of reports to leverage modern CA12 capabilities.
- Ensure continuity of Everyplace reporting and connected reporting functions after the upgrade.
Reporting inventory, assessment and dependency mapping
- Drive the acquisition, validation, and refinement of the full inventory of Cognos reports required for uplift and testing.
- Coordinating with Integration Leads to map reporting dependencies, customizations, and upstream data sources.
Environment Strategy, Provisioning and Schedule Alignment
- Collaborate with IBM and the client on provisioning of non‑production and production Cognos v12 environments, aligned to the Integrated Project Plan.
- Develop work plans to execute assessments and workshops before environment readiness.
- Ensure environments are prepared for integration/unit testing, regression cycles, and esignated cutover windows.
Workshop Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead workshops with the client business teams, IBM, and Accenture to validate requirements, confirm report usage, clarify functional changes, and close open questions.
- Coordinate with Cloud Service Manager (client) for meetings related to technical infrastructure, architecture, and reporting dependencies.
Architecture, Technical Design and Governance
- Define the Cognos Analytics v12 architecture, aligning with identified integration patterns, cloud hosting, and security standards.
- Formalize governance covering data sources, metadata, security roles, change management, and report lifecycle aligned with the client’s analytics standards.
Development Oversight and Quality Assurance
- Provide directions to report developers and analysts; approve designs for complex reports and dashboards.
- Ensure SQL tuning and performance optimization aligns with expected data patterns and Cognos v12 engine behavior.
Testing Strategy & Cutover Execution
- Lead test script development, early‑pull testing, regression cycles, and business validation of reports.
- Support cutover planning, mock cutovers, and final production migration aligned to the SOW and Integrated Project Plan.
Risk, Issue, and Decision Management
- Maintain a clear pipeline of open questions for the client and IBM; manage follow‑ups and ensure decisions feed into the schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years leading IBM Cognos programs, including Cognos BI 10 to Cognos Analytics 11/12 migrations.
- Strong SQL and reporting/data‑modeling expertise, with ability to guide development teams.
- Experience working in highly structured Integrated Project Plan environments.
- Background collaborating with vendor teams (IBM), client leads, and multi‑discipline technical teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead workshops and align cross‑functional stakeholders in complex upgrade programs.
- Bachelor’s degree or completion of a college program in a related discipline.
- Eligibility for Level 1 Enhanced Reliability Clearance.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- Experience with Maximo Application Suite (MAS) integrations and MAS‑aligned reporting models.
- Familiarity with cloud‑hosted Cognos environments
- Utility, nuclear, or heavy‑regulated‑industry experience.
- Exposure to broader Analytics platforms (Power BI etc.).

employment, for roles that may be hired as set forth below.
