What you’ll do & Who you are
Kijiji is seeking a highly motivated and commercial HR Manager to join our team in Toronto on a 12-month fixed-term contract, ideally commencing in March 2025. In this stand-alone HR role, you will manage end-to-end HR operations for our team based in Canada ensuring that we continue to foster a high-performance work environment. This role will collaborate with central People Operations support teams to provide HR services that will be transitioned locally overtime. The HR Manager will report directly to the General Manager and be responsible for our HR and Workplace Functions.
What You'll Do
HR Operations Management
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training & development, and offboarding.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries, providing guidance to employees and managers on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee payroll administration, benefits administration, and absence management.
- Ensure adherence to employment laws, regulations, and internal policies, keeping the organization updated on relevant changes in labor laws.
- In partnership with Senior Leaders, partner on the design and execution of organizational design and change initiatives.
- Partner closely with finance on headcount, workforce planning and all people related costs.
Recruitment and Talent Management
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for open roles, including job postings, interviews, offer negotiations, and onboarding.
- Support the development and implementation of talent retention programs to promote career development and growth opportunities for employees.
- Manage our quarterly talent review process.
Employee Relations
- Handle employee relations issues in a timely and sensitive manner.
- Provide coaching and support to managers.
Performance & Development
- Oversee performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance reviews and employee development plans.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization.
Total Rewards Management
- Work closely with the General Manager and Senior Leaders to design, implement, and manage competitive compensation packages that attract, retain, and motivate employees.
- Lead the coordination and execution of our annual salary review, bonus and incentive schemes.
- Manage our benefits vendors and the annual renewal of our health insurance schemes with Canada Life.
Workplace & Culture
- Overall management of our Workplace function, including the oversight of our Workplace Manager.
- Lead the design and execution of our culture engagement strategy, enabled by a cross functional team.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead HR role.
- Experience in a stand-alone HR role is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law in Ontario and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism with the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solutions orientated approach.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter with a commercial and results-oriented mindset.
- Previous experience with Workday and HiBob is desirable.
