Your Future Is Bright at AGAT
At AGAT Laboratories, our people are the driving force behind everything we do. As one of Canada’s leading laboratories, we support critical industries including Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-Food and Life Sciences through scientific expertise and innovation.
Due to the continued growth across Canada, we’re looking for an energetic, people-focused Human Resources Generalist to join our Mississauga team (on-site). This is an opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders, influencing positive workplace culture, and making a meaningful impact on employee experience. You'll work across a broad range of HR functions, partnering with managers and employees throughout the employee lifecycle while collaborating with operational leaders and an experienced HR team across Canada.
The Opportunity
As our Human Resources Generalist, you will serve as a trusted partner to managers and employees, providing guidance and support across all areas of Human Resources. You'll help foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance, consistency and operational excellence throughout our organization.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Partner with managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support full-cycle recruitment activities, onboarding and employee development initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct and support workplace investigations and employee relations matters.
  • Advise leaders on coaching, progressive discipline, performance improvement plans and terminations.
  • Assist employees with benefits, RRSP programs, policies and HR-related inquiries.
  • Partner with Payroll and Operations on disability management, accommodations and return-to-work programs.
  • Analyze HR trends and support initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
We're Most Interested in Candidates Who:
  • Enjoy building strong relationships and solving people-related challenges.
  • Bring experience supporting managers and employees in a Human Resources environment.
  • Are confident balancing employee advocacy with business needs.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative workplace.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.

We value collaboration, accountability, curiosity, and practical problem-solving. Our HR team is committed to providing exceptional service while supporting a positive and respectful workplace culture.
The starting salary of this role will be $65,000+ per annum.

What success looks like
In your first year, you'll:
  • Build strong partnerships with leaders across the business.
  • Become a trusted resource for employee relations matters.
  • Support successful recruitment and onboarding initiatives.
  • Help strengthen employee engagement and retention.
  • Contribute to HR programs that support AGAT's continued growth.

Why Join AGAT?
Unlike many HR roles that support a single department or location, this position provides exposure to diverse operations across Canada, allowing you to partner with leaders in Environmental, Energy, Mining, Industrial, Transportation, Agri-Food, and Life Sciences businesses. This breadth creates exceptional opportunities for professional growth and development.
AGAT continues to expand in Canada, creating opportunities for HR professionals who want to help shape processes, influence culture, and contribute to a growing organization rather than simply maintain existing programs.
AGAT offers a competitive benefits package including:
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive health, dental and vision care.
  • Paid vacation and flexible sick time.
  • RSP matching
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Long-term disability and life insurance.
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities.

Our Workplace
AGAT Laboratories is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and barrier-free workplace. If you require accommodation during any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know confidentially and we will work to meet your needs.
We appreciate the time and effort of every applicant. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
If you're an HR professional who wants to make an impact, build strong business partnerships, and grow your career with a company that continues to evolve across Canada, we'd love to meet you.
