Human Resources Business Partner
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Toronto site on a 6-month contingent assignment. This role is well suited for a hands-on HR professional who brings a strong balance of HR operations, project execution, systems expertise, and analytical capability.
In this role, you will partner closely with site leaders and employees while supporting a variety of HR initiatives, including compliance programs, employee relations, HR systems, reporting, and recruitment activities. You will play a key role in maintaining HR operational excellence while advancing site-level HR projects and improvements.
What You Will Do
Serve as a trusted HR partner to leaders and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, programs, and employment-related matters. Support and contribute to HR projects and initiatives, including:
- Controlled Goods Program (CGP) support and administration
- HR process improvements and systems optimization
- HR policy updates, and implementation
- Maintain and analyze HR data, prepare reports, and support audits using advanced Excel functionality
- Create, maintain, and analyze spreadsheets using VLOOKUPs, formulas, pivot tables, and other advanced Excel tools to support HR reporting and decision-making
- Maintain accurate employee records and process employee lifecycle transactions within the HRIS
- Support HR systems administration, reporting, and data integrity across platforms such as Workday, ADP, or other HRIS systems
- Partner with HR Team and Site Leaders to support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, internal applications, and coordination of hiring activities, as required
- Prepare and administer employee changes, exits, and related documentation in compliance with legislative and company requirements
- Support employee relations matters, including documentation, investigations, and performance management processes
- Administer and support employee benefits and Leave of Absence programs, including disability-related cases
- Ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and other applicable employment legislation
- Employee Onboarding
- Support site communications, HR documentation, and change initiatives
What You Bring
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR Business Partner or HR Generalist experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Adaptable, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including experience using VLOOKUPs, formulas, pivot tables, and HR-related data analysis
- Strong experience working with HRIS platforms, including reporting and data management
- Demonstrated experience supporting HR projects, policy development, compliance initiatives, and system-related work
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including ESA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present data and recommendations
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
