About the Role 

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as the key HR representative for operations in Cameroon, working closely with business leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals.

This role combines both strategic and operational responsibilities, ensuring effective people management, strong employee engagement, and full compliance with local labor laws. The HRBP will act as a trusted advisor to management while supporting the full employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Lead and support end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Manage performance management processes, including appraisals and goal setting
  • Handle employee relations issues, including disciplinary processes and conflict resolution
  • Manage relationships with unionized staff and union representatives, including negotiations and dispute resolution
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and internal HR policies
  • Maintain employee records, contracts, and HR documentation
  • Oversee HR operations such as leave management, attendance, and payroll coordination
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, performance)
  • Identify training needs and support learning and development initiatives
  • Drive employee engagement and culture-building initiatives
  • Act as a liaison between local and regional HR teams


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in an HRBP role

  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR practices in Cameroon

  • Proven experience managing unionized environments and engaging with labor unions
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Ability to work both strategically and hands-on
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
  • Fluency in English and/or French (bilingual is a strong advantage)
  • Professional HR certification is an added advantage
