Junior Software Developers, are you ready to launch your career with a top-tier team? As junior software developers at Hootsuite, you will design, build, test, and ship high quality software that delivers value to our customers. You will learn and follow established patterns and best practices and be supported in delivering high quality work as part of the team. The team will own the entire delivery lifecycle from beta releases to production ready, scalable products suitable for new and existing customers.


We're hiring junior front-end, back-end, and full-stack developers, and we're looking for talented individuals with 1-2 years of experience in software development (including co-ops, internships, or equivalent work). At Hootsuite, you’ll have…

  • The possibility to work with the following technologies, depending on the role:
    • Back-end: PHP,  Docker, Jenkins, Kafka, Redis, AWS Aurora (MySQL) and Java in an environment that’s using Amazon Web Services, Terraform, Kubernetes, Scala (or another functional language), Go, Javascript/TypeScript , Domain Driven Design, Command Query Responsibility Segregation, Event Sourcing, Test Driven Design and Agile
    • Front-end: TypeScript, Javascript, React, Redux, React Testing Library, Playwright, Cypress, Jest, HTML/CSS, Storybook, GraphQL, Node.js, Go, Scala, PHP and MongoDB Atlas in an environment that’s using Amazon Web Services, Grafana, Sumo Logic, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, Jira, Content Management Systems, Content Deployment Networks, and A/B testing tools.
    • Full-stack: Docker, Jenkins, Kafka, Redis, AWS Aurora (MySQL) and Java 21 in an environment that’s using Amazon Web Services, Terraform, Kubernetes, Scala (or another functional language), Go, React, Javascript/TypeScript, Domain Driven Design, Command Query Responsibility Segregation, Event Sourcing, Test Driven Design and Agile
  • The opportunity to contribute to the successful execution of the team's roadmap by asking questions, providing input, and promptly escalating identified risks and scope changes.
  • Actively engaging in team activities, working out loud, learning from peers, contributing to code reviews and documentation as you work towards achieving team goals.
  • Actively engaging in troubleshooting, addressing minor bugs independently, and collaborating with senior team members to resolve more complex issues. 
  • Delivering low-complexity projects as you learn coding and design standards, testing practices, and company guidelines for security, accessibility, and privacy.

  • February 4-5: Technical Interview: System Design focused
  • February 6: Final Interviews with Hiring Managers - Guiding Principles focused
  • February 7: Offers Extended
