WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Product Marketing Specialist, HSP is responsible for driving the downstream go-to-market execution and lifecycle management of Henry Schein Products (HSP). Working closely with internal stakeholders, this role ensures seamless alignment in bringing products to market. The Product Marketing Specialist serves as a key link between the category management, HSP specialists, sales, and marketing teams to optimize the HSP portfolio. This role influences marketing initiatives, promotional activities, and portfolio decisions through data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration.

This role requires in office collaboration two (2) to three (3) days a week.
 

Product Evaluation

  • Own and centralized the Canadian New Product Initiative (NPI) launch plan
  • Support all downstream product marketing functions
  • Identify and evaluate new product offerings and determine which should be added to HSCI’s, HSP mix. This evaluation will include:
  • Product specifications and market demand using the New Product Submission – Business Partner Requirements Form
  • Database analysis to identify market opportunities
  • The opinions of all stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Vendor support and overall vendor relations
  • Alternative and competing product lines
  • Price points and gross margin expectations

Market Analysis

  • Perform detailed database and market analysis to identify HSP trends, including:
  • Product sales trends
  • Gross margin analysis
  • Support sales and marketing teams with product knowledge, value propositions, and key messaging for campaigns, training, and promotional tools.

Marketing Initiatives

  • Provide strategic direction to the HSP sales team on specific marketing initiatives. This direction will include product selection, positioning and price for a number of advertising vehicles, including; catalogues, flyers, monthly specials, private label catalogue, new product launches, ecommerce platforms and trade shows
  • Establish price and gross margin levels at the individual SKU, and product family level that maximize growth opportunities and return on investment
  • Work in coordination with internal and external stakeholders, HSCI strategic plans and competitor positioning

Sales and Market Share Growth

  • Supports the development of strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and helps to expand market share within assigned product lines
  • Implements initiatives to strengthen customer retention, upselling, and cross-selling, contributing to sustained revenue expansion

Project Planning

  • Develop schedules and budget plans to ensure deadlines for assigned projects or tasks are met
  • Communicate with Manager, Henry Schein Products regarding all activities and deviations from project plans and budgets

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-secondary education majoring in Marketing or Finance
  • Minimum three to five years’ experience working in a corporate, matrixed environment
  • Category management, specialist experience is preferred
  • Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and TEAMS
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Multi-task, juggling multiple business priorities
  • Detail Oriented
  • Financial acumen, basic to intermediate financial reporting skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
