Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving innovation in weather, climate, and environmental solutions? Do you have a proven track record in business development and a deep understanding of actionable insights tailored for B2B clients? At Pelmorex Corp., we are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Pelmorex Weather Source division—our B2B weather data business. As a recognized global leader in consumer weather services, we are now scaling our commercial solutions division with ambitious growth plans in sectors highly influenced by weather, such as retail, energy, logistics, and insurance.
Reporting directly to the President and CEO and working alongside the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you’ll be responsible for accelerating revenue growth, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring profitable scalability of the Weather Source division. You will guide the strategy, partner network, product roadmap, and global market expansion with a sharp commercial and technical lens.

WHAT IS THE DAY TO DAY LOOK LIKE

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Own and refine the vision and growth strategy and bottom-line performance for Pelmorex’s weather, climate and environment related solutions Collaborate with the CEO and SLT to ensure alignment with Pelmorex’ broader corporate goals
  • Identify untapped market opportunities, develop go-to-market plans, and drive execution globally
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO, the SLT, and global managers to adapt and iterate strategies for success in local markets
  • Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and strategic alliances to expand Pelmorex's presence and market share in key markets (e.g., Canada, US, Spain, UK)Conduct market analysis and competitor assessments to identify areas for improvement and differentiation
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, government authorities, and industry influencers
  • Solution Design and Development:
  • Take accountability for leading and refining the current b2b solution suite and delivering against a broader range of client needs
  • Lead the design and development of new b2b focused solutions and products with significant addressable potential for driving future growth
  • Work closely with Technology and Meteorology to deliver resilient, differentiated solutions on a global scale
  • Operational Management:
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), update all stakeholders, and identify and implement corrective/supportive measures as needed to achieve business targets
  • Optimize operational efficiency while maintaining the highest level of quality and client service
  • People Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team of professionals, fostering a positive and inclusive work culture
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members to enhance their performance and professional growth
  • Promote a strong focus on employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning
  • Financial Management:
  • Development and management of budgets, partner with the Finance team with financial forecasts, and cost control measures to ensure financial targets are met
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning in partnership with Finance
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all local laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact the company's operations or reputation

WE ARE HOPING YOU HAVE

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as meteorology, climate or environmental science, science, engineering, mathematics, or business administration is preferred; however, equivalent experience and demonstrated expertise in relevant areas will also be considered. A graduate degree is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in running a business, particularly in business development, B2B product design, and go-to-market strategy planning
  • Strong financial acumen and experience owning and managing  a growth business P&L
  • Proven senior leadership experience managing diverse teams in a global setting, both in direct and matrixed environments
  • Proven understanding of how data and data products are built, marketed, and sold, with experience in leveraging data to drive business outcomes using agile or lean methodologies
  • Understanding of different global markets, cultural nuances, and regulatory environments
  • Experience scaling B2B API or data-as-a-service platforms, with strong knowledge of API monetization, SLAs, and enterprise integration
