The Senior Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial health of the company and report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to oversee all financial aspects, from daily operations to long-term planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS financial management, fundraising, and growth strategy, and will be instrumental in guiding our company through the next stages of growth.

What you’ll be doing: 

General

  • Lead and manage the different finance department functions including accounting, AR/AP, reporting, taxes, FP&A, financial audit, and payroll
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives
  • Implement cost control measures and drive financial process improvements and implement best practices
  • Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and business growth
  • Help secure funding through venture capital, debt financing, or other means
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure efficient and scalable financial operations


Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Oversee quarterly and annual financial planning process including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and long term planning
  • In collaboration with senior leadership establish ambitious financial and strategic goals for long and short term success
  • Develop and maintain robust financial forecasting models to accurately predict and assess performance

Cash Flow Management

  • Oversee cash flow and liquidity, ensuring adequate funds for operational needs and strategic investments
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasting models to anticipate future financial requirements
  • Oversee invoicing, payroll, AP and AR with the support of internal and external resources

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, ASPE, and IFRS
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and manage financial risk

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare and present financial reports and strategies to various stakeholders including employees, board members, auditors, investors, bankers, and others
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and financial institutions
  • Support investor relations and prepare financial information for fundraising activities


Must Haves:

Experience

  • Proven track record in a senior financial role in a high-growth startup/scaleup or venture-backed company
  • 10+ years at a SaaS company and at a top-tier accounting firm, most recently as a Director of Finance or higher
  • Broad experience with venture capital fundraising, M&A, and growing a company into different jurisdiction such as the US market
  • Undergraduate and/or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • CPA designation

Expertise

  • Strong technical accounting skills; thorough knowledge of GAAP, ASPE and IFRS
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, metrics, and financial dynamics
  • Exemplary spreadsheet / financial modelling skills (Excel and Google Sheets)
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (ideally Xero and Mosaic)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
