Job Description

At Eataly, this role is referred to as a Fresh Pasta Artisan. The Handmade Fresh Pasta Artisan supports both restaurants and retail departments on handmade pasta needs. An Artisan shares knowledge about products and ingredients with guests. The Artisan will work closely with the team to ensure procurement needs are met. Reports to the Fresh Pasta Manager.

  • Responsible for handmade pasta output for both restaurants & retail case
  • Works closely and collaboratively with retail team and restaurants to understand needs, pars, recipe development
  • Assists the retail counters with daily operations as needed to ensure counters are running smoothly
  • Ensures retail supplies are in stock and being utilized properly at all stations
  • Stocks counter and display refrigerators neatly, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Slices, weighs, labels, displays, sells and packages products per department standards and guest specifications
  • Manages transfers between departments to ensure accurate inventory levels and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
  • Provides a steady presence on the floor, constantly interacting with guests, employees, vendors and visitors
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • Handmade pasta making experience highly preferable
  • 2+ years of experience in food service
  • Strong knowledge of steps of service
  • Great communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Italian products

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule sometimes including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting

Compensation

  • Compensation for this role is CAD $22.00-$24.00 hourly
