Position Overview
SpryPoint is at an inflection point. We're the technology leader in our market—the only modern, cloud-native solution—and we're growing rapidly. With that growth comes opportunity and complexity: our Product Management team is in high demand across the organization, and we need to build the infrastructure, processes, and planning capabilities that enable the team to scale while providing the business with visibility and tools for informed decision-making.
The Group Product Manager for Customer Information Systems will lead the scaling and maturation of our SpryCIS product management organization. This role manages three specialized teams totaling 11+ product professionals supporting SpryPoint's flagship SpryCIS product across multiple agile development teams. You'll lead a capable team that needs operational systems, planning frameworks, and scalable processes to meet the demands of our continued growth.
This is a builder role. You'll design and implement the operating systems, frameworks, and rituals that enable a high-performing product organization. You'll establish capacity planning rigor, create clarity around workload management, implement stakeholder engagement models, and build the infrastructure that allows your team to move from reactive to proactive. You'll create the processes and tools that support Product Owners while giving the business the visibility it needs.
The right person for this role has scaled PM teams through hypergrowth and knows how to build sustainable systems that enable rather than constrain. You're a player-coach who maintains deep product knowledge and can jump into complex product challenges when needed. You're energized by designing capacity planning systems that provide clarity and predictability. You understand how to translate implicit strategic decisions into explicit execution frameworks. You can coach, develop, and hold teams accountable while building the guardrails that set them up for success.
This role requires balancing three critical dimensions: operational management (40%), systems building (40%), and hands-on product work (20%). As the team matures and systems become established, expect the balance to shift toward more hands-on product leadership and less systems building.. This is about execution excellence, operational rigor, and building a world-class product management capability.
Organizational Structure
You'll lead the evolution of the SpryCIS product management organization from its current single-team structure into three specialized teams:
Two SpryCIS Product Teams (4-5 Product Owners each, managed by a Product Owner Team Lead)
- Support 3-4 agile development teams per group
- Focus on solution design, roadmap execution, and delivery
- Own feature development from concept through launch
Product Intake Team (1 Team Lead, 1 Product Owner)
- Triage and manage the sales process and new project requirements
- Conduct early-stage discovery and scoping for new opportunities
- Manage the product ideation submission process
- Deliver well-defined epics with preliminary solution designs to execution teams
- Coordinate with SpryCIS Product Teams on large, complex deals
A key priority in year one is recruiting the team leads for this new structure and facilitating the team transition while maintaining momentum on existing commitments.
🛠 Responsibilities
- Lead and develop 3 Team Leads and 11+ Product Owners through regular 1:1s, coaching, and performance management
- Recruit and onboard 2 additional Team Leads and 7+ Product Owners over the next 12 months
- Manage capacity allocation and prioritization across contractual commitments and strategic initiatives
- Ensure realistic forecasting and consistent delivery against client timelines and business commitments
- Build strategic relationships with Sales, Client Solutions, and Engineering to align on priorities and manage expectations
- Monitor team velocity, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address over-allocation risks
- Collaborate with product leadership to design and implement scalable capacity planning systems and frameworks
- Establish processes that provide visibility into workload, constraints, and team performance for stakeholders
- Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance team effectiveness and predictability
- Implement tools and metrics that enable data-driven decision-making and resource allocation
- Drive change management to adopt new ways of working across the organization
- Develop deep knowledge of SpryCIS capabilities, architecture, and roadmap
- Jump in to support Product Owners on complex solution design or high-stakes client engagements
- Provide hands-on assistance with strategic epics and RFP responses for large deals
- Mentor Product Owners through pairing on challenging product problems
- Translate strategic decisions into executable product plans and communicate ROI to create organizational alignment
Systems Building & Process Maturity (40%)
Hands-On Product Leadership (20%)
💡 Qualifications and Competencies
- 5+ years in product management with deep hands-on product work and increasing leadership responsibility
- 3+ years managing Product Managers or Product Owners, including experience managing managers
- Proven track record scaling product teams in high-growth B2B SaaS or enterprise software (30%+ annual growth)
- Experience building product management processes and operating systems that support teams and stakeholders
- Strong capacity planning and resource management skills with systems implementation experience
- Enterprise B2B experience where sales cycles and client requirements shape the roadmap
- Product expertise with ability to jump into complex solution design and strategic product decisions
- Systems thinking, operational rigor, and change management capabilities
- Excellent coaching, stakeholder management, and communication skills
⭐ Highly Valued:
- Experience in the utilities industry or highly regulated B2B sectors - Understanding utility operations and industry dynamics

- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Tempo) and capacity planning software
- Experience managing product teams supporting multiple agile development teams
- Understanding of balancing platform development with client-specific needs in B2B contexts
🙅 Not the Right Fit If:
- You've never managed managers or built organizational structure
- You lack B2B enterprise product experience

- You haven't worked in high-growth scale-up environments
- You're looking for a pure strategy role
