Role Description

The Associate, CDD is a key member of the Global Operations & Business Services division, responsible for supporting the U.S. Client Due Diligence (CDD) function through process execution, stakeholder coordination, reporting, issue resolution, and operational support. This role will work closely with the U.S. CDD Group Manager and CDD Senior Manager to support departmental deliverables, drive process improvements, and contribute to initiatives that enhance the operating model, service quality, and business-as-usual execution. The successful candidate will apply strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to support effective decision-making, timely escalation of issues, and consistent execution of policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Supporting the US CDD Group Manager and Senior Manager in the execution of CDD client onboarding and department deliverables.

  • Enhance management decision-making on policies and processes based on direction and insights generated from regulatory changes through updates to enterprise policies and standards, helping advance the operating model, business-as-usual activities, and service quality.

  • Actively maintain understanding of internal policies and industry regulations and trends by developing and sharing knowledge of emerging issues and risks and assessing potential impacts as they relate to operating policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Lead work streams by acting as a project lead or subject matter expert for small-scale initiatives and projects in accordance with project management methodologies.

  • Act as a key relationship and coordination lead by bringing together appropriate partners, subject matter experts, customers, vendors, and internal/external stakeholders to support key initiatives, resolve complex issues within the end-to-end process, and build productive working relationships that deliver value to the broader Operations function and partner/customer groups.

  • Accountable for cross-functional interdepartmental initiatives that deliver value internally or to partner and customer groups while building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders.

  • Provide accurate and thorough analysis of key process drivers and root or systemic causes of cross-functional operational issues; interpret findings and make recommendations.

  • Facilitate the implementation of policies, processes, and initiatives to meet functional objectives.

  • Provide upward feedback and analysis by developing and executing reporting functions and/or producing consolidated or aggregated reporting, as appropriate.

  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information, and all matters of confidentiality.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of presentations, communications, and reporting to management or broader audiences.

  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork, and ensure timely communication of issues and points of interest.

  • Provide thought leadership and industry knowledge by actively building operations and business services knowledge, thinking critically about processes and opportunities for improvement, sharing ideas, and transferring knowledge within the team and across the function.

  • Keep others informed and up to date about the status and progress of projects and all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities.

  • Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship, knowledge sharing, lived experiences, and leveraging best practices.

  • Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.

  • Act as a brand ambassador for Global Operations & Business Services and the bank, both internally and externally.

Role Requirements

  • Strong understanding of CDD client onboarding processes, U.S. AML/KYC regulatory requirements, and documentation standards applicable to capital markets and wholesale banking.

  • Experience supporting end-to-end CDD onboarding, including client file review, documentation follow-up, stakeholder coordination, issue resolution, and status tracking.

  • Ability to analyze onboarding information, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and recommend practical actions to support timely and accurate onboarding completion.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and tools used for reporting, tracking, and management information development.

  • Experience investigating onboarding, data quality, or documentation issues and supporting remediation or process improvement activities.

  • Ability to develop and maintain procedures, standards, governance documentation, and training materials

  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and operational controls

  • Ability to effectively analyze complex issues and recommend practical solutions

  • Experience interacting with regulatory, compliance, audit, testing, or risk management partners

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across business and support functions

  • Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives through collaboration and partnership

  • Experience preparing executive-level presentations, committee materials, and management reporting

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in CDD client onboarding, AML/KYC operations, regulatory operations, client lifecycle management, risk management, compliance, audit, data management, or a related field.

  • University degree or equivalent experience

  • Industry certifications and relevant professional designations (e.g., CAMS, CRCM) are an asset
