In the role of Group Account Director, Investment, you will require strong leadership capabilities with proven experience managing multiple client teams of various size and complexity. You will be responsible for leading and inspiring a team of Investment professionals in their day to day. You will juggle multiple high-level projects at a time, research and justify partner selection and develop and negotiate multi-faceted media and marketing partnerships. You must think strategically and work collaboratively with client team leaders in Strategy, Planning, and Analytics to create Investment recommendations that deliver on client strategic goals and business objectives. 

This role requires you to work as part of an integrated media investment team to ensure the product is grounded in insights and experience, resulting in flawless media executions.

Responsibilities:

  • Office lead for Toronto Investments, responsible for leading, mentoring and motivating Directors on their team
  • Work with connected capabilities teams to ensure targets and ensure buying strategies are being adhered to
  • Assume overall responsibility and accountability for buying strategy, purchase, reporting and monitoring of all media buys.
  • Ensure the team is tracking and monitoring market conditions, providing Planners and Clients with any relevant data that may be useful in the planning of campaigns.
  • Explore new media opportunities, evaluating and issuing sponsorship and integration recommendations to the client.
  • Lead and mentor a team of buying professionals. Effectively communicate agency goals, manage workloads, provide ongoing performance feedback, support professional development goals and inspire great results.
  • Cultivate and further strengthen client, agency and media partner relationships at the senior level.
  • Participate in additional agency/team projects and new business presentations.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure all invoices, discrepancies, and billing is inputted, cleared, and issued in a timely fashion with team.
  • Work in partnership with the Vice-President (VP), Investments to build corporate opportunities and negotiations.
  • Work in partnership with the VP, Investments to execute monthly spend forecasting on behalf of clients.
  • Oversee that timely reporting on stations/ programming/news updates to both planners and clients as necessary.
  • Active participation during briefings, client meetings, station meetings, etc. as required.
  • Oversee value summaries and audit reporting.
  • Draw actionable insights from results in order to generate better results.
  • In partnership with VP, Investments develop and issue media POVs.
  • Lead by example and play an active role in cultivating the culture of our organization.

Qualifications:

  • Professional or Educational background in Marketing or Advertising would give leverage to this application.
  • Leadership level of experience in media investment.
  • Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients or total ownership of one large complex account with multiple lines of business.
  • Proven experience delivering inspiring and persuasive presentations.
  • Ability to manage complexity across multiple groups, clients and interagency partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff and lead high performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical and financial acumen.
  • Ability to delegate and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Ability to develop and foster strong relationships and partnerships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively apply knowledge and insights gained from research and reporting resources to media buying.
  • Solutions oriented and approaches obstacles with creativity and resolve.
  • Proven excellence in media negotiations.
  • History of developing positive business relationships, focused on client service.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Professional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced understanding of media research tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
