The Opportunity 

 

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Global Quality Specialist to support its Global Product Group (GPG) for Power Transformers for the definition, implementation assurance, and sustaining of actions and initiatives aimed to improve Quality performance of Product Line HVDC and Large Core Power Transformers (HVDC/LC), supporting its extension as well to others as applicable; working in alignment with Global HVDC team on the Quality improvement plan.  

 

How you will make impact 

 

  • Defining for the GPG Quality journey initiatives to improve Quality performance of Large Core and HVDC Txs 

  • Following up and supporting the implementation of the HVDC/LC Quality plan across the Units    

  • Creating, updating and supporting the implementation of the Global Quality Inspection Cards and Quality Standards for HVDC/LC  

  • Supporting investigation of Test Failures, Field Failures, and Top-Quality Issues related to HVDC/LC   

  • Identifying needs and creating training material for HVDC/LC   

  • Creating, updating and supporting the implementation of the skills matrix for Operators of HVDC/LC  

  • Preparing Global Quality Alerts about HVDC/LC issues 

  • Executing the Quality & Operations Audits along with GPG Operations Experts in the HVDC/LC Units 

 

Your background 

 

  • Engineering University degree, preferably with Master of Science or equivalent   

  • 7+ years of experience in Power Transformer Design and/or Manufacturing. Preferably with experience/background in HVDC Power Transformers  

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in a technical and/or industry environment   

  • Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher level  

  • Fluent written and spoken English matched with excellent communication skills and high personal integrity and self-care and environment care attitude/behavior (HSE)  

  • IT tools usage and practice on digital processes  

  • Travel availability and intercultural openness
