We are looking for Machine Operators to join our team in Milton, ON.  This position offers a continental rotating shift schedule. 12 hour shifts rotate from day to night weekly

You must be able and willing to work both day and night shifts. 

  • 12 hour shifts are (days and nights) 8:00 – 8:00

You will become part of the Operations team on the production line, reporting to the Production Supervisor.  Each team has up to 9 team members who work together to produce high quality stone wool products.

What you bring:

  • Strong work ethic

  • Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions/processes
  • Ability to adhere to a continental rotating 12-hour shift schedule
  • Self-motivated with high energy

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and ability to work in a safe manner
  • Prior experience in machine set-up and computers
  • Good understanding of how equipment operates to clear equipment safely
  • Forklift experience/certification

What you will be doing:

  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workplace
  • Report quantity of deficiencies and the cause
  • Separate waste
  • Report all irregularities related to the work of subordinate devices
  • Partner with Maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment and safe removal of failures and/or machine problems
  • Inform supervisor and relevant shifts of any problems or tasks in need of attention
  • Plan efficient product changes
  • Communicate unusual conditions, equipment issues, or reasons for change of production volume to cross shift operator
  • Complete shutdown tasks and procedures

Work Environment & Conditions:

  • Fast-paced high volume production facility
  • Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for 12 hours per day
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs alone and 120 lbs with another person
  • Ability to shovel heavy waste to shoulder height
  • Ability to wear protective safety equipment for several hours daily
