The General Accountant manages daily accounting operations, ensures accuracy in financial records, oversees reporting, assists in budgeting, and identifies process improvements.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized General Accountant to support our daily accounting operations at group level. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, from transaction processing and reconciliations to assisting with month-end close and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, tax planning, etc. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Operating
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for group level companies, ensuring accuracy, prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and other adjustments.
- Oversee daily banking activities, including account monitoring, internal transfers, and wire payments, navigating multiple banking portals with proficiency.
Reporting & Compliance
- Lead the full‑cycle financial reporting for group asset management vehicle, group operating and investment entities, including preparation of monthly financial statements and quarterly consolidated reports in accordance with ASPE
- Leverage Yardi to streamline multi‑entity consolidation, enhance reporting workflows, and improve overall efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting
- Assist in Year-end process and keep records of group company and investor structure
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process with historical data and analysis. Analyze financial variances between actuals and budget/forecast, providing explanations to management.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls.
- Assist Controller to optimize business and financial analysis tools and reports
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA designation required
- 2-4+ years of professional accounting experience
- Experience with development group company is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Adequate Experience with accounting ERP, especially Yardi is a plus, Knowledge or Experience with AI technology in accounting is an asset
- Solid understanding of IFRS accounting principles.
