Fullstack Engineer

We are looking for a Fullstack Engineer to join Lyft’s Experimentation and Metric Platform team. The services and tools the team owns are at the heart of decision-making at Lyft as they power running online tests and collecting insights about their resulting business impact. We host a suite of services, data pipelines and statistical/machine learning models that are behind both traditional and adaptive experiments. 
As a full stack engineer, you are expected to build and own end-to-end products across the stack, design highly scalable distributed solutions with a desire to achieve exceptional usability and performance. You will be responsible for sound technical execution of backend and web projects through hands-on development and quality assurance. Your close collaborators will be passionate colleagues with data engineering, data science, and product management expertise with whom you’ll work closely to deliver on projects that delight millions of passengers and drivers.

Responsibilities:

• Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distributed knowledge
• Lead large projects from idea to launch
• Participate in our teams on call rotation. Identify, triage, debug and resolve issues/bugs across our various applications and platforms
• Partner with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to build complex features and products from idea to positive execution
• Analyze our internal systems and processes and locate areas for improvement/automation

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. 
• 3+ years of front and backend software engineering industry experience
• Strong skills in a scripting language (Python, Bash, etc) and object-oriented programming
• Strong experience with JavaScript, React, NextJS and Typescript.
• Experience with styled Components, React Hooks, REST API, gRPC, GraphQL, Redux
• Experienced with npm, and modern frontend testing tools such as Jest, and React testing library including unit and end-to-end testing.
• Experience working with data structures and algorithms
• Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.)
• Nice to have experience of working directly with cross-functional data analytics, data scientists, and engineering teams to bridge Lyft’s business goals with data engineering

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office at least 3 days per week, including on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is $108,000-$135,000 CAD. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
