Job Title: Full Stack Java Developer
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ Months
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full Stack Java Developer to join our growing team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java-based technologies, cloud platforms, database systems, and modern DevOps practices. You’ll be involved in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise-grade applications in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and maintain reliable database solutions using MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Work with messaging systems like MQ for seamless communication between services
- Collaborate with the team to design efficient DB architectures and implement solutions on AWS or GCP
- Perform unit testing (JUnit), regression, and performance testing to ensure high-quality code
- Leverage Docker and Gradle for containerization and build automation
- Write clean, maintainable scripts and components using Groovy
- Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills and Experience:
- 8 years of experience in software development with Java and related technologies
- Experience working with Spring Boot, JUnit, Groovy, Gradle, and Docker
- Proficiency with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and DB design principles
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP
- Exposure to message queues (MQ) and asynchronous communication patterns
- Strong understanding of software testing strategies and performance tuning
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
