Atomicwork is on a mission to transform the digital workplace experience by uniting people, processes, and platforms through AI automation. Our team is building a modern service management platform that enables growing businesses to reduce operational complexity and drive business success.

We’re looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our team and help us build our modern service management platform. This role is based out of our Bay Area office.

What you'll do — responsibilities

  • Own full-stack features from design to production: design APIs, implement backend services, and build maintainable UI components.
  • Build and maintain scalable, secure, and observable services including APIs, background workers, authentication, and third-party integrations.
  • Implement polished, accessible, performant UIs using modern React patterns and best practices.
  • Design and tune persistence layers: schema design, indexing, query optimization, caching strategies.
  • Ship well-tested code and own CI/CD flows, rollouts, and incident responses.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, QA, and other engineers in weekly planning, design reviews, and execution.
  • Drive technical proposals, tradeoff analysis, and documentation.
  • Act like a product owner for your domain — prioritize customer value, shipping, and quality.
  • Continuously improve our platform through code reviews, refactoring, and system improvements.
  • Solve interesting technical problems with creativity and strong engineering judgement.

What we're looking for — must-haves

  • 2–5 years of professional experience building production web applications across frontend and backend.
  • Strong JavaScript / TypeScript skills with React on the frontend.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language: Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Java.
  • Strong fundamentals in REST/GraphQL API design and integration.
  • Solid database knowledge (relational databases, indexing, query optimisation). MySQL experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms — deploying, monitoring, and operating services.
  • Practical experience with testing (unit, integration, e2e), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker).
  • Good debugging skills — comfortable tracing issues across UI, APIs, and databases.
  • Clear communication and documentation habits with a collaborative, low-ego mindset.
  • Familiarity with modern code editors like VS Code, Cursor, etc.

Why we are different (culture)
As part of Atomicwork, you can shape our company and business from idea to production. Our cultural values set the bar high and help us create a better workplace for everyone.

Agency: Be self-directed and take initiative.

Taste: Hold a high bar — sweat the details and build with care.

Ownership: Take full responsibility for wins and setbacks.

Mastery: Commit to continuous learning and improvement.

Impatience: Move with urgency towards outcomes.

Customer Obsession: Put customer value at the heart of every decision.
