What you'll be doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Core protection Technology team. You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale mobile projects involving multiple back-end systems. As a Full Stack Developer, you’ll assemble, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience across both iOS and Android. You’ll lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration of these applications.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed

Design and development - Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Go lang for back-end services and Angular for front-end development. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define, design, and implement new features.

Strategic planning - Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standards. Manage and optimize SQL databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance. Utilize Azure for cloud-based solutions and deployment processes. Leverage Databricks for data processing and analytics tasks. Implement and integrate Python scripts for automation and data manipulation as needed. Troubleshoot and debug applications to enhance performance and user experience.

Leadership skills - Act as the mobile development team lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving. Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to foster team growth. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices.
Who you are

You can demonstrate experience in: Objective C, Xcode, Android SDK, Swift, Web Services, XML, Subversion, and GIT. It’s an asset if you are fluent in Object Oriented Design, JSON and RESTFul web services, and if you have written Unit Test and UI Automation Tests. Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or in a similar role. Strong proficiency in Go lang, Angular, and SQL databases. Familiarity with Azure, Databricks, and Python. Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture. Proficient in version control systems, such as Git.
