About the Role

Lylli Studio is looking for a Frontend Developer to lead the development of our internal creator operations portal. This role is critical in establishing a scalable frontend architecture that empowers teams to build tools independently while maintaining consistency, performance, and usability.

Lylli is an innovative app that brings thousands of children’s books to life by creating a captivating experience that promotes children’s cognitive development, establishes reading habits, and invites them into a life as readers.

You will help define our frontend stack (React), set standards for component libraries, and build a shared system that makes it easier for product, content, and operations to ship high-quality experiences faster.

This role is central to shaping how Lylli scales, from our reading app to our studio platform - and ensuring we can grow globally without adding complexity.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Frontend Developer at Lylli, you’ll lead the work to design and build a scalable frontend foundation for our internal tools and enabling teams to create, launch, and operate content and AI-powered features with ease.

  • Develop and maintain our internal portal, creating a flexible and scalable framework for tools used across product, content, operations, and partnerships.
  • Lead the development of a shared component library, ensuring consistency across tools and standardizing UI patterns using modern frontend best practices.
  • Optimize performance and usability, creating internal tools that are fast, intuitive, and accessible for a wide range of users — from editors and illustrators to product managers and engineers.
  • Improve developer experience, helping set up build pipelines, testing strategies, and deployment practices for frontend applications.
  • Collaborate closely with backend developers, designers, and cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration with APIs, internal services, and content workflows.
  • Shape the future of our internal tooling ecosystem, enabling Lylli to scale efficiently as we expand into new markets, languages, and reading formats.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Solid experience building and maintaining large-scale frontend applications, ideally with React and Node.js
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams, participating in code reviews, sharing knowledge, and solving complex product needs through strong frontend architecture.
  • A passion for building tools that make other people’s work easier — and for shaping structure in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience building and deploying Java backend services.
  • Strong understanding of API integrations (especially JSON-based).
  • Interest in coaching junior developers and helping raise the overall technical bar.
