About this role 

We are looking for a Mid-level Software Engineer (Frontend) to join our Logistics Areas and Fees team. If you are passionate about building scalable, delightful user interfaces and thrive in a fast-paced, high-scale environment, this role is for you. This role is open to candidates based in Toronto, Montreal, or Ottawa.

As a Mid-level Frontend Engineer within our Logistics domain, you will play a key role in designing and operating the web applications that power delivery areas & fees related systems. You will own frontend systems end-to-end, from architectural patterns to component design, deployment, and performance monitoring, contributing to a seamless user experience across our platforms.

Your mission is to deliver robust, performant, and accessible frontend services, working closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to ship features that our internal operators and the wider logistics platform rely on every day. You will champion modern frontend practices and help shape the future of web engineering within the organization.

Location: Ontario Remote  

Reporting to: Technology Manager 

These are some of the key components to the position:  
  • Design, build, and operate scalable frontend applications using React and TypeScript

  • Develop and maintain reusable, responsive UI components

  • Optimize application performance to ensure a smooth, low-latency experience for users

  • Manage complex application state and data fetching patterns efficiently (e.g., React Query, Redux, or similar)

  • Integrate frontend applications with REST and GraphQL APIs, ensuring robust error handling and data consistency

  • Own frontend reliability: instrument with monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog RUM), set up alerting, and lead frontend-related incident response

  • Drive engineering excellence in CI/CD, automated testing, code review, and progressive rollouts

  • Collaborate with Product, Mobile, QE, and Data teams to ship high quality releases on a continuous delivery cadence

  • Participate in architectural decisions, RFCs, and technical design reviews across the Logistics domain

  • Investigate and resolve production issues using Datadog, distributed tracing, and log analysis

  • Actively participate in the Agile software development cycle within a cross functional team environment

  • Support and mentor team members, helping grow frontend engineering as a discipline

What will you bring to the team? 
  • 5+ years of experience building and operating production frontend applications at scale

  • Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript 

  • Deep understanding of modern CSS (CSS Modules, Tailwind, or CSS-in-JS) and responsive design principles 

  • Experience with frontend testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress or Playwright 

  • Strong knowledge of Web APIs, browser internals, and performance optimization techniques 

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for web applications and modern build tools (Vite, Webpack) 

  • Production experience deploying to AWS and/or Azure, running services on Kubernetes (EKS) 

AI & Modern Engineering Capabilities
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar is required

  • Experience making repositories agent-ready, maintaining clear READMEs, AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md files, structured code conventions, and reproducible local setups so AI coding agents can contribute effectively

  • Experience using AI agents to drive end-to-end engineering tasks (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor agents, or similar) for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and automated PR workflows

  • Experience integrating AI into frontend engineering workflows (e.g., AI-assisted code review, UI test generation, performance analysis, intelligent debugging)

  • Understanding of prompt engineering and evaluation of AI-generated outputs in a software engineering context

  • Awareness of best practices for AI-driven development, including reliability, reproducibility, and accessibility, particularly as they apply to production frontend systems

Bonus
  • Experience with Vue 2 and Vue 3 will be a plus

  • Familiarity with design systems and collaboration tools like Figma is a plus

  • Experience working in Agile, fast-paced, continuous delivery environments

Compensation range: $83,600.00 - $100,000.00

Final compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
