The Applications Developer helps architect and implement user interfaces for our stack of web and mobile applications, while ensuring that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in regular project stand-ups and sprint reviews 
  • Identify and optimize applications for performance and scalability issues 
  • Collaborate with other development, creative and product management teams to plan and deliver compelling user-facing products from start to finish
  • Create and enhance the structure and presentation of efficient, reusable front-end systems that drive complex web and mobile applications 
  • Use test-driven development to write well-tested code 
  • Participate in code reviews lead by senior team members and technical leadership 
  • Updating and maintaining the functional and UI aspects of applications 
  • Mentor other team members 
  • Staying up to date on current trends and technologies
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of Javascript experience
  • Post-secondary education with a focus in IT Web Programming, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with React/React Native or comparable technologies (Angular, Vue, etc.) 
  • Experience with browser APIs and optimizing front end performance 
  • Experience with HTML/CSS, including concepts like layouts, specifically, cross-browser compatibility and accessibility 
  • Proficient with code versioning (Git, SVN) 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and broad knowledge of current and upcoming web development techniques and principle 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Highly organized with the ability to function in a fast-paced business environment
