Collectors is the leading creator of innovative technology that provides value-added services for collectors worldwide. We grade, authenticate, vault, and sell millions of record-setting collectibles, all while modernizing and digitalizing the process to further our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our growing team.

Our services span collectible trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder.

Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 3000 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, California and offices in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Japan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and France.

We’re transforming the collecting experience with technology that brings authentication, grading, and trading into the modern era. Our products are equalizing the playing field by providing tools that make complex research analytics — including pricing, scarcity reports, and historic sales data — accessible to every collector, old or new. Our engineering mission is to democratize technology while promoting innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning throughout the organization. We're seeking engineers to utilize advanced technology in agile settings, with a focus on improving the customer experience for every collector.

You’ll report to the VP of Engineering, Information Security and Platforms. Collectors is committed to utilize cybersecurity, risk and privacy best practices on our platforms, leveraging signal intelligence and observability at scale to protect our customers, employees and our brand.

Remote or hybrid candidates will also be considered. We believe that there is significant value in in-person collaboration. If you live within a 1 hour commuting distance to one of our offices, you will be required to be onsite most of the time. This will be discussed further as part of the recruiting process.

What You’ll Do:
  • Build and scale end‑to‑end fraud detection and prevention programs from 0–1 through maturity, owning the long‑term strategy, roadmap, and outcomes across products and business lines

  • Scale and govern risk processes to cover an increasingly large and complex landscape of risks, designing and evolving strategies and solutions that range from ML‑driven model features to policy, tooling, and manual review workflows at enterprise scale

  • Analyze transaction and behavioral data to identify emerging risk patterns and design new fraud‑detection methods that proactively prevent loss while preserving customer trust

  • Lead and influence cross‑functional partners across Engineering, Product, Data Science, Operations, and Finance to design, prioritize, and deploy high‑impact detection rules, features, and controls

  • Own the optimization of fraud rules, thresholds, and models, reducing false positives and friction while balancing customer experience, operational cost, and fraud loss.

  • Establish and maintain monitoring, dashboards, and alerting to track the health and effectiveness of fraud prevention measures, driving a data‑driven governance cadence

  • Develop and execute the vendor and partnership strategy, collaborating with external payment networks and third‑party fraud providers to strengthen detection capabilities and negotiate value

  • Deliver clear, actionable insights on fraud trends, risk posture, and financial impact to senior cross‑functional stakeholders, informing budget, product, and operational decisions

  • Build, mentor, and guide a high‑performing fraud and risk team and/or virtual squad, instilling best practices, analytical rigor, and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement

Who You Are:
  • Proven track record building and scaling end‑to‑end fraud detection and prevention programs from 0–1 at scale, including setting strategy and leading cross‑functional teams (Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Finance).

  • 7+ years of experience in risk or fraud detection, including hands‑on work developing rules, models, and analytics, with a history of owning key metrics such as fraud loss, approval rates, and operational efficiency

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams or large cross‑functional initiatives in a high‑growth or complex environment, with demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders

  • Strong background in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field

  • 5+ years of hands‑on SQL experience and proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language, comfortable diving into large, messy datasets when needed

  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, including techniques such as pattern recognition and unsupervised learning, with the ability to frame complex trade‑offs and decisions through clear quantitative analysis and visualization

  • Effective and persuasive communicator, with experience presenting to and aligning operations, data science, engineering, and finance leaders around a shared fraud strategy

  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, with the ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and create structure and clear next steps in spaces without established ownership

  • Strategic systems‑level thinker who can balance long‑term risk posture with near‑term business goals, customer experience, and operational constraints
