The Role

We’re hiring a Back-End/Core Systems Engineer to design and own the APIs, services, and orchestration logic that power our core systems. You’ll be building the backbone of USDH — from institutional APIs to bridge flows to money movement tracking. You’ll work alongside product, infra, and crypto engineers, and own production-grade services from day one.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, build, and scale core REST and event-driven APIs used by our partners and internal systems

  • Build and maintain database-backed systems for reconciliation, money movement, bridge tracking, and observability

  • Implement and evolve systems using tools like PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Clickhouse, Docker, Terraform

  • Shape our metrics, logging, and monitoring stack for high-reliability infrastructure

  • Collaborate with other engineers to improve our API design, reliability practices, and production tooling

  • Contribute to or own cross-chain infrastructure and crypto integrations if you're experienced in that area

  • Participate in system design reviews, technical roadmap discussions, and postmortems

  • Own code in production — we build with reliability and observability from the start

Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience building production-grade backend systems

  • Are highly proficient in TypeScript or Go, and confident working with SQL databases

  • Have designed and shipped robust RESTful APIs and backend services with strong uptime and performance guarantees

  • Understand and have implemented event-driven systems, including messaging queues and data pipelines

  • Have hands-on experience with production infra: Redis, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Docker, Clickhouse, OpenAPI, Protobuf, WebSockets

  • Know how to debug, trace, and monitor distributed systems in production environments

  • Have worked at a small-to-mid-sized company where you owned critical services, or led backend development for a product line

  • Bonus: have crypto-native experience, including Solidity, on-chain infrastructure, bridges, L2s, or trading systems (e.g., MakerDAO, LayerZero, Tenderly, Across, Wintermute, SCP)

  • Bonus: experience with financial systems: reconciliation, ledgering, settlement, or audit tooling
