Staff Firmware Engineer
We are productizing advanced optical silicon and need a FW engineer as part of team scaling. We are looking for a Staff Firmware Engineer to join our Connectivity Products Group as a strong technical contributor and key member of the design team
What you'll do:
- Develop and test embedded firmware in both pre-silicon (Verilog) and post-silicon (Lab) environments
- Be an expert in Alphawave Serdes and DSP cores and develop algorithms for optimally controlling them
- Develop ASIC level control plane FW running on embedded Risc-V cores
- Work with design and marketing teams to develop firmware requirements
- Support customer and applications teams on firmware issues
- Support silicon validation and test teams on firmware issues
- Mentor the junior members of the team
What You'll Need
- BSc. or MSc. in Computer Science/Electrical/Computer engineering or a related field
- Experience with C/C++ and Python
- >7 years of experience with embedded systems like ARM, Risc-V, etc., and strong programming skills
- Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools and methodologies used for digital verification
- Familiarity with hardware description languages such as SystemVerilog
Nice to have skills:
- Experience with SerDes
- Familiarity with Ethernet and/or PCIe protocols
- Familiarity with the CMIS standard
- Familiarity with version control and CI/CD systems and processes
- Knowledge of peripherals/protocols such as I2C, SPI, USB, NVME, etc.
- Fluency with bring-up tools like oscilloscope, JTAG debugger, I2C/SPI tools, etc.
- Interest and experience with open-source projects
