Staff Firmware Engineer

We are productizing advanced optical silicon and need a FW engineer as part of team scaling. We are looking for a Staff Firmware Engineer to join our Connectivity Products Group as a strong technical contributor and key member of the design team

What you'll do:

  • Develop and test embedded firmware in both pre-silicon (Verilog) and post-silicon (Lab) environments
  • Be an expert in Alphawave Serdes and DSP cores and develop algorithms for optimally controlling them
  • Develop ASIC level control plane FW running on embedded Risc-V cores
  • Work with design and marketing teams to develop firmware requirements
  • Support customer and applications teams on firmware issues
  • Support silicon validation and test teams on firmware issues
  • Mentor the junior members of the team

What You'll Need

  • BSc. or MSc. in Computer Science/Electrical/Computer engineering or a related field
  • Experience with C/C++ and Python
  • >7 years of experience with embedded systems like ARM, Risc-V, etc., and strong programming skills
  • Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools and methodologies used for digital verification
  • Familiarity with hardware description languages such as SystemVerilog

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with SerDes
  • Familiarity with Ethernet and/or PCIe protocols
  • Familiarity with the CMIS standard
  • Familiarity with version control and CI/CD systems and processes
  • Knowledge of peripherals/protocols such as I2C, SPI, USB, NVME, etc.
  • Fluency with bring-up tools like oscilloscope, JTAG debugger, I2C/SPI tools, etc.
  • Interest and experience with open-source projects
