The Financial Planning and Performance (FP&P) team is a partner to our business, facilitating cross-departmental collaboration on the delivery of insightful analysis to management in support of financial outcomes related to budgets, forecasts, and the resulting performance measures. The combination of business partner and financial expert places our team in a unique position to advise senior management of emerging trends, risks, and issues that may impact the financial objectives of our business.

The Opportunity:

Act as a trusted advisor by providing expertise and direct support to management in facilitating and preparing annual budgets, forecasts, performance measures and scenario analysis.

Develop analysis that are instrumental in advising senior leadership teams on emerging trends, risks, or issues that may impact the financial objectives of the business.

Create key messaging on financial budget and forecast outcomes tailored to the needs of the applicable stakeholder (e.g., operational management, corporate management, senior management, Board of Directors, external auditors). This messaging should integrate into key financial performance documents (e.g., 3 Year Plan, Annual Report-MD&A).

Collaborate to establish Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) for the delivery of financial planning services to the business. Regularly monitor the resulting metrics; identify issues promptly, and work to resolve in a timely manner.

Ensure sound processes and governance frameworks are in place to produce planning, reporting, and analysis that adhere to best practices, including, but not limited to, relevance, efficiency, accuracy, and completeness.

Coordinate and collaborate on innovation initiatives within the team that will provide value-added analysis for enhanced decision making. Leverage critical thinking and problem-solving skills to design solutions to be implemented.
Your experience and skills:
-
A University degree in business or economics.
-
Professional accounting designation (CPA) is required.
-
Five to seven years’ experience in budgeting, financial planning, and analysis.

Ability to create strong business relationships, with a demonstrated record of providing value add consulting services.

Excellent customer service skills.
-
Expertise in design thinking and strong analytical skills to enhance problem-solving capabilities.
-
Ability to prioritize tasks in a time-constrained environment and adapt to the challenges of a changing environment through strategic thinking, creative problem-solving and flexibility.

Proficiency using financial systems for data analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning would be considered an asset.

Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerQuery, PowerPivot, and PowerBI, as well as the ability to utilize Microsoft Office features to create reports and messaging.

Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Strong ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively in a team environment.

SALARY: $89,984 to $105,848 per annum (Salary Grade 12)
