Job Description

The Manager, Finance will be part of the Brookfield Infrastructure Group, focusing on Finance and Operations for Brookfield Infrastructure Partners, a publicly-listed company with a long history as an owner and operator of infrastructure assets. This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team within a high-growth platform, offering meaningful exposure and significant long-term growth potential for high-performing individuals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing key financial reporting & operations deliverables for Senior Management and other stakeholders, will be a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent interpersonal skills, is detail oriented, possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity and has a strong foundation in finance and accounting.

Located in our head office in Downtown Toronto, the Manager role is a highly visible role that provides excellent exposure to middle and senior leadership levels across various functions of the Brookfield-wide organization.

This role offers the unique opportunity to be involved with several important functions within our team, including consolidation and financial reporting of Infrastructure’s publicly listed companies, support internal financial reporting to parent companies and will support compliance, investor relations and business planning & forecasting. There is also opportunity to provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with operating platforms to prepare and review consolidated financial statements and public documents on a quarterly and annual basis, including the MD&A

  • Actively participate and lead the resolution of complex IFRS technical accounting issues and the execution of regulatory updates, including the coordination with auditors and operating business groups

  • Present various analyses and reports for senior management, such as operating metrics and corporate financial results to support their business decision-making

  • Produce financial reporting deliverables provided to the Board and senior management

  • Support internal and external audit teams in relation to quarterly reviews, the annual audit and SOX compliance

  • Assist in preparing consolidated financial forecasts, tracking global operating results of subsidiaries and articulating these results to key stakeholders

  • Collaborate regularly with operating business groups and various Brookfield departments

  • Mentor junior staff to aid in their development

  • Continuously look for efficiency in our processes, tools and reports and make suggestions to implement these into our framework

  • Assist as needed with due diligence related to refinancing, ad-hoc analyses and presentations on financial and operating results, investor queries and special projects.
     

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • University degree in Business or Finance or related field

  • Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA)

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function

  • Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills

  • Highly analytical with great attention to detail

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, a team player with positive attitude and pro-active approach to work

  • Experience managing staff through large projects and tight timelines

  • Strong communication skills, can work effectively with all levels and departments within a complex organization 

  • Can work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines

  • Strategic thinker that can think outside the box, focused on efficiency and improving existing processes

  • Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
     

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000
