This role is ideal for someone who enjoys Data and Analytics, is interested in Finance, and is motivated by automation—systematically reducing manual effort, strengthening controls, and improving scalability through smart design and tooling.
Joining a Data Analytics & Insights team that supports Finance planning and reporting by owning critical data processes and delivering analytics that inform decision‑making.
Being part of a collaborative, inclusive culture where process improvement and automation are encouraged and valued.
Building your skills through continuous learning, including exposure to Copilot, GenAI, and modern Finance data practices.
Receiving mentorship and exposure to high‑impact Finance work in a fast‑paced alternative asset management environment.
Gaining hands‑on experience owning an end‑to‑end monthly data process and contributing to Finance reporting and insights.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Automation, Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
Proactively identify recurring, manual, or error-prone Finance processes and redesign them using automation-first thinking.
Build and maintain automated Excel based workflows (e.g., Power Query, structured templates, controlled macros where appropriate) to streamline data ingestion, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
Develop reusable data transformation logic and standardized import templates that reduce month-over-month effort and variability.
Embed automated data quality checks, exception logic, and validation controls directly into workflows to strengthen accuracy and auditability.
Support SLC Finance GenAI / Copilot productivity initiatives, including:
Identifying and implementing high value automation and augmentation use cases
Partnering with Finance and IT to test, document, and operationalize solutions
Contributing to enablement (e.g., onboarding support, sharing sessions, lunch & learns)
Use Copilot and automation tools to accelerate documentation, learning, and process transitions, ensuring knowledge is captured and reusable.
Monthly Phase 1 – Data Intake, Transformation & Planning Platform Ingestion
Coordination of third-party data submissions, including receipt tracking, completeness checks, version control, and timely follow-up.
Transform, standardize, and reconcile incoming datasets using scalable, repeatable workflows to import templates (e.g., mapping, formatting).
Execute and continuously improve automated validation routines (exception checks, variance analysis, tie outs to prior periods), ensuring issues are surfaced early and transparently.
Maintain and enhance runbooks, control checklists, and process documentation, emphasizing clarity, repeatability, and reduced reliance on manual intervention.
Monthly Phase 2 – Analytics, Reporting & Business Intelligence
Refresh and maintain Finance and leadership reporting outputs, prioritizing automation of refresh cycles and standardized analytical views.
Maintain Power BI datasets and dashboards, including refresh reliability, visual consistency, and alignment to agreed metric definitions.
Investigate variances and ad‑hoc questions using structured, auditable analysis, supported by automated data pipelines where possible.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
We are looking for a candidate who has a strong background in Data & Analytics, is exceptionally comfortable with automation and structured Excel-based work and is interested in Business Intelligence.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, Analytics, or related fields.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong comfort level completing high-accuracy work with large datasets in a self-directed fashion (e.g., PivotTables, data cleaning, reconciliation logic, structured tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS).
A strong automation and control mindset—you enjoy eliminating manual steps while strengthening accuracy, documentation, and repeatability.
Comfortable working with various GenAI-based tools including Agents to develop automated workflows. Ability to customize LLMs is a strong plus.
High attention to detail and comfort operating in a regulated Finance environment with defined controls and deadlines.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills within a recurring monthly cadence.
