This position will serve as a multifaceted Field Application Scientist to facilitate seamless implementation of EUROIMMUN instruments and products in customers’ laboratories, with a focus on laboratory software and network interfacing. Excellent technical and communication skills are needed to positively interact with customers and company personnel in English, while French is an asset. Successful candidates will be initiative-takers who can independently manage their time and schedules, and who possess essential business, hands-on, and computer acumen.

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of EUROIMMUN instrumentation, products, and techniques, staying current with system changes and updates.

  • Coordinate pre-delivery inspections, hardware installation, initial configurations, and system validations

  • (IQ, OQ, PQ), training, and any applicable troubleshooting (hardware, perform part replacements, and provide on-site repairs, application or software) with business team and customers.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure instruments meet performance standards.

  • Assist field service engineers with instrument installations and on-site troubleshooting.

  • Aide the logistics department to arrange shipping of instrument, kits, and samples.

  • Assist customers with validation studies including protocol definition, sample acquisition, sample testing, and data evaluation.

  • Ensure automation programming is completed to customer needs and national requirements.

  • Communicate with EUROIMMUN AG for additional 2nd-level support, complaints handling, etc.

  • Liaise with customer’s IT, networking and security teams. Aide in laboratory information system (LIS) interfacing and edit scripts used for LIS communication as required.

  • Assist in conducting educational sessions on equipment and products internally and to customers.

  • Provide application support and expertise to all company departments.

  • Follow documentation procedures for all project and service tasks: network maps, on-site work orders, service reports, training confirmations, customer workflows, scripting guidelines, etc.

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Comply with all safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist business team with Request for Purchase paperwork and perform presale consultations on planned instrumentation and systems. Coordinate all necessary instrument registration.

  • Overnight travel as needed (40-50%).

  • Installation & Commissioning: Perform hardware installations, initial configurations, and system validations.

  • Technical Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, perform part replacements, and provide on-site repairs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree or a Medical Laboratory Sciences advanced diploma.

  • 1-2+ years of laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with client/server network infrastructure and basic object-oriented programming.3 or more years’ experience as a field service representative, MLT, or related field preferred.

  • Bilingual in French preferred.

  • Experience with bidirectional TCP/IP and file-based communication preferred.

  • Experience with C# coding and script writing standard practices preferred.

  • Strong computer literacy skills, adept at learning new software interfaces, proficient in MS Office.

  • Well-organized, able to function independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent time management during concurrent projects.

  • Comfortable presenting training and information seminars to groups.

  • Strong professional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Possesses exemplar critical thinking abilities.

  • Enthusiastic demeanor and a can-do attitude.
