CIMA+ is seeking an Expert Technologist - Infrastructure to support project delivery across our Kitchener and Greater Toronto Area (GTA) offices. In this role, you will play a key leadership and technical role in managing CAD resources, coordinating design deliverables, and ensuring the successful execution of multidisciplinary water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in process piping design, strong coordination skills, and practical field experience in asset verification, site assessments, and contract administration. You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, project managers, and construction teams to deliver high-quality, constructible solutions for municipal clients.
This role will be based out of our Kitchener or GTA office on a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate CAD and drafting resources across Kitchener and GTA offices to support timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Oversee and produce detailed process piping layouts for water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and storage facilities.
- Develop and refine 2D and 3D models for process systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated design across civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
- Ensure drawings meet applicable engineering standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate technologists and CAD staff.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in process drafting and design, preferably in water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Extensive experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation).
- Strong understanding of mechanical/process piping systems and facility layouts.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating CAD teams across multiple offices or projects.
- Proven field experience with asset verification and site assessments.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
