The Opportunity:

We are looking to fill an opening for an Events & Sponsorship Specialist to join our Marketing Team for 12 months.

Reporting jointly to the Senior Manager, Event Experiences and Manager, Corporate Marketing Services, the Events & Sponsorship Specialist will primarily focus on webcast production, while supporting in-person events and sponsorship programs. This role contributes to ensuring all events and strategic engagement with partners and clients align with corporate marketing objectives and divisional goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Event Management: Coordinate and manage virtual and in-person events, ensuring seamless delivery and exceptional participant experience.
  • Sponsorship Management: Oversee sponsorship activities by tracking levels and deliverables, managing branding and speaking opportunities, coordinating tradeshow exhibits, and ensuring accurate placement of ads, logos, and visuals.
  • Marketing Support: Collaborate with internal teams to produce marketing collateral, videos, promotional items, and gifting solutions that reinforce brand presence.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain consistency in event and sponsorship processes, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

What your day looks like:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and project management, technical set-up, testing and production, and evaluation of corporate webcasts. Webcast formats include pre-recorded, live, and semi-live
  • Comfortably navigate and utilize event management and email platforms, survey software, and learn new tools as required
  • Support and collaborate on other events as required. This may include fully leading in-person events or owning components of larger events lead by team members. Responsibilities range from research, project management, monitoring budget, to maintaining accurate event records
  • Conduct post-event surveys, build comprehensive post-event reports, and continuously seek ways to improve event processes
  • Share the responsibility of monitoring event inboxes and replying to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Coordinate and support in-person and virtual sponsorships: track sponsorship levels and deliverables, branding and speaking opportunities, ad/logo/visual placement, coordination of any visual displays, videos, marketing collateral/brochures, promo items/gifting/door prizes
  • Manage all tradeshow booth & visual display requirements: collaborate with the design studio and communications to create on-brand displays, coordinate distribution to events, conferences, and conventions
  • Provide general back-up and support for team members
  • This role requires occasional travel (less than 10%) and work outside of normal business hours

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • 3-5 years in an event management or event marketing role with proven success in virtual events or webcast production
  • Post-secondary education in marketing is preferred
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Highly self-motivated individual who is resourceful and driven
  • Technically savvy with the ability to quickly learn new software applications
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
  • Extremely well organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management skills and multitasking abilities
  • Independent and self-directed with a strong ability to work collaboratively with peers
  • Experience in a marketing and communications department is an asset
  • Financial industry experience is an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $80,000 - $85,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
