Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Estimating Manager for an immediate opportunity at our Hamilton Office.  This is a new position and the work mode will be hybrid. The Estimating Manager reports to the Project Controls Manager and responsibilities include the following:
 

·         Liaise with the client’s estimating team to ensure full compliance with estimating standards, requirements, and governance processes.

·         Participate in Development Phase Estimate Working Groups and coordinate estimating inputs across disciplines.

·         Review all project materials and deliverables to ensure estimates are aligned with industry best practices and are properly benchmarked.

·         Lead and support change management, value engineering activities, and cost-impact assessments.

·         Coordinate with Independent Value Assessors (IVA) and participate in IVA challenge panels.

·         Address and close out auditor questions, comments, and compliance findings.

·         Develop and implement project-specific estimating reports and dashboards to meet client and internal reporting requirements.

·         Manage and review cost-related submissions from contractors, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project scope, deliverables, and contract terms.

·         Provide guidance to the project team on estimating requirements, cost trends, risk drivers, and commercial implications.

·         Maintain estimate documentation, assumptions, basis of estimate, and benchmarking records to support traceability and audit readiness. Well developed interpersonal and communication skills are key.

·         Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members and effectively balance people and processes. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management or comparable degree

  • Minimum 8 years capital infrastructure Estimating experience 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 years of related experience strongly preferred

  • AACEi membership preferred

  • CCP certification preferred

  • Experience working on large scale project
