Job Responsibilities:
The Environmental Due Diligence and Property Risk Specialist is a key member of the Corporate Environmental Team that is responsible for management of and reporting on Magna's Global Environmental Programs related to operational environmental risk, environmental due diligence, as well as data collection and reporting of environmental metrics. This position will be responsible for managing due diligence activities associated with new properties, merger and acquisitions, divestures, as well as management of environmental investigations, environmental activities associated with construction projects, and remediation activities. The position will support Divisions and Groups globally, and will include the development, implementation and maintenance of programs, policies, and tools to support Environmental Programs that reduce Magna's environmental liabilities.

Your Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage global due diligence activities with various departments and stakeholders using a web-based platform to document and report findings, risks and associated costs.
- Manage environmental remediation projects, including coordinating consultants, establishing and managing budgets and timelines, and communicating with regulators and other stakeholders.
- Support divisions in conducting necessary investigations and construction and real estate activities with environmental implications or risks.
- Stay updated on environmental regulations, develop policies and procedures, and deliver presentations/training programs.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, guidance and training related to reducing environmental harm, risk and liabilities.
- Assist the Global Environmental Compliance Team to assess and manage property related risks identified during environmental compliance inspections and audits.
Who we are looking for
- 5+ years of experience coordinating and managing environmental due diligence and remediation projects.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or Environmental Science.
- Proficiency in conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Strong analytical and prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Demonstrated project coordination and management experience.
Your preferred qualifications
- Ability to review and interpret environmental laws, regulations and standards.
- Potential for overnight travel in North America between 15-20% of the time.
- Additional language capabilities would be an asset, particularly Spanish, German or Chinese
