**Must Reside in Ontario**

About the team and the role:

The Engineering Systems Tools team builds and operates the internal tooling and infrastructure that power thousands of developers across eBay. Our mission is to boost developer efficiency through automation, self‑service platforms, and seamless provisioning.

We own the full lifecycle of our tools, from development and deployment to monitoring and operations and partner closely with teams across the company to deliver resilient, scalable solutions.

The role spans full‑stack development and platform operations across multi‑cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure), with active investment in Kubernetes, infrastructure‑as‑code, and service automation.

What you will accomplish:

  • Deliver full‑stack internal platforms and self‑service tools that measurably improve engineering efficiency and reduce operational toil.

  • Build and evolve RESTful APIs, microservices, and intuitive front‑end experiences that integrate third‑party and custom systems used across eBay.

  • Operate and scale cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Azure, contributing to reliable provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.

  • Implement Kubernetes‑based containerization and deployment workflows to optimize performance, availability, and resource utilization.

  • Automate infrastructure and CI/CD using Terraform, Helm, and related tooling to accelerate delivery and increase consistency.

  • Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle—from requirements and design through deployment and post‑release support—driving platform hardening and continuous improvement in partnership with product, SRE, and engineering teams.

What you will bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering and platform operations in large‑scale or enterprise environments.

  • Programming skills in Java, Go or Python with Spring Boot or similar frameworks; bonus for front‑end experience (React, Angular, or similar).

  • Hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and managing applications in Kubernetes and Dockerized environments.

  • Proven background in multi‑cloud architecture and automation working with GCP, AWS, or Azure.

  • Familiarity with developer platforms and tooling such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise, Artifactory, SonarQube, Gradle, Airtable, and modern monitoring/logging stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

  • Proficiency with infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), strong debugging skills across distributed systems and APIs, and clear communication to collaborate across engineering and infrastructure domains.
