Job Description

Curinos is looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our Commercial Banking pod. This group is responsible for the end-to-end development and support of a suite of products that banks use to manage their commercial product portfolios; these products empower our customers to make data-driven decisions quickly and efficiently based on a mix of their own and our proprietary data and metrics. You will collaborate closely with product and line of business stakeholders to develop and execute the product roadmap, ultimately owning the architectural design, implementation, and timely and efficient delivery of new product features in a robust and scalable application stack. You will lead the team by example, modeling quality software development practices while also overseeing each team member’s professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a product engineering team consisting of Software, Data and QA Engineers; providing mentorship and career development to team members
  • Managing grooming and breakdown of user stories into well-understood and implementable tasks for the team to execute
  • Modeling quality software development practices to the team by performing code reviews and providing feedback and coaching to the team on the principles of efficient and scalable design
  • Providing input into the product roadmap by developing a thorough understanding of our products and their internal- and external customers; advocating for the prioritization of initiatives to reduce technical debt and improve efficiency of product operations
  • Ensuring compliance with Curinos’ SDLC and Agile processes by tracking and reviewing KPIs with the team
  • Collaborating with peer Engineering Managers on feature development, and ensuring efficient sharing of code and features between adjacent Engineering pods

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Expertise:

  • 8+ years of professional experience developing cloud-based SaaS products covering UI, Back End, API, and ETL components
  • 5+ years of experience working with ETL pipelines and complex metric calculations; experience using Databricks is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in a management role, leading the day-to-day work and longer-term professional development of ICs
  • Advanced proficiency in Java, Python, Spark, SQL and Angular
  • Ability to distill business and functional descriptions of features into technical requirements; experience translating between the language of product managers and developers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • A strong collaborative nature, and the ability to negotiate and make trade-offs with peers and other key stakeholders (e.g., business team heads, delivery teams)
  • A demonstrated ability to dive into and thoroughly understand a complex code base and a desire for improvement and elimination of technical debt
  • Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Git, DevOps practices and tools, and CI/CD Pipelines
  • A bias towards action, and a passion for proactively identifying and eliminating manual work both within the SDLC and ongoing product operations
  • A commitment to building a quality and scalable product, including implementation of unit testing, integration testing, and data validation strategies
