About the Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will report directly to the VP of Engineering and play a dual role in both people management and operational execution. Your key responsibility will be building and scaling a high-performing team of engineers, while setting and executing on the technical vision and roadmap. You will mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team, ensuring their success aligns with the success of the product.   • Lead and develop a team of Ruby on Rail engineers working remotely in locations across the globe
  • Lead a team of engineers through a significant feature or product launch in collaboration with Product and Design
  • Help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Provide leadership and direction to engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment.
  • Deep knowledge of modern software development practices, including agile methodologies, code versioning, testing frameworks, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Technical background with Ruby on Rails a plus
  •  Excellent communication skills, with the ability to break down complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in defining and delivering on an engineering roadmap that balances new features, technical debt, and scalability.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing engineers to reach their full potential.
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity, make data-driven decisions, and adapt to shifting priorities in a startup environment.
  • Can empathize with the challenges of incident management and interest in developer-focused products.
  • Enjoys working and contributing to a high performing team that consistently delivers results.
  • We don't care about fancy degrees or FAANG experience.
