Job Title: Engineer Manager Systems

Position Summary:

The Engineering Manager for Systems for NCA – will assist the engineering group to follow efficient, standard and consistent design for hardware and software according to industry standards.

He / She will help engineering group to use commercially viable hardware including PLCs, HMIs, PCs, embedded PCs, Client/Servers, Drives/VFDs, sensors, actuators, software and development environments to design, industrial control systems for a variety of applications in industries including Metals manufacturing, mining, material handling, pulp & paper, marine, and O&G.

This is primarily an on-site position at our Cleveland Office, occasional flexibility will be considered.

Essential Job Functions

  • Knowledge of Power Systems to design drive controls.
  • Expert in AC/DC Drive Control Architecture
  • System design for automation of plants & machinery
  • PLC, HMI, and other industrial-equipment programming
  • Schematic & Layout design for electrical & electronic Control Systems including VFDs/DC Drives using AUTOCAD Electrical and Mechanical, Knowledge of EPLAN will be plus.
  • Simulation, testing, and documentation
  • Estimation of Systems Project RFQ, Direct interface with Sales and Customers for RFQ.
  • 10% travel required.

Education/License Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering,
  • PE License will be plus

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 7 Years in Design & Implementation of Industrial Control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and Drives (VFDs and DC Drives);
  • Minimum 7-Years of Programming PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment for Industrial Control Systems. Minimum 3 Years direct work experience with Schematics & Panel layouts
  • Knowledge of C#, VB, .NET, OPC, SQL will be plus
  • Preferred: Knowledge of NEC / NFPA70 / UL 508 Standards.
  • Preferred: Direct experience with implementation of systems with EtherNet/IP, EtherNet TCP/IP, DeviceNET, ProfiNET, Modbus TCP/IP
  • Rockwell, GE, Siemens, & Schneider PLC Platforms experience

Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment, standard office equipment.

  • Customer Sites – Industrial manufacturing plants, Ports, Above & Underground Mines, Warehouses & logistics-center
  • Up to 20% Travel to customer or sister-company sites/facilities including overseas
