Avnan is on the hunt for a dynamic and passionate Electronics Engineering Technologist to join our team for a 4-month Co-op (Sept to Dec 2026) contract. Reporting directly to our Engineering Manager, you will be involved in electronics repair and development.

About you

Our ideal candidate is a tech-savvy individual with a knack for problem-solving and a passion for electronics. If you are currently pursuing a post-secondary degree or diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related field, we want to hear from you!

Qualifications: 

  • Enrollment in a relevant engineering degree or diploma program.
  • Basic knowledge of Altium Designer or Eagle Software for PCB designs and schematics is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). 

Skills and Credentials:

  • Experience using digital/analog multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with measuring tools and testing equipment, including soldering tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of computer software and hardware repairs.
  • Familiarity with bills of materials, electronic components, and schematics.

Responsibilities:

  • Electronics Repair: Showcase your skills in soldering, desoldering, and assembling electronic products.
  • Test Workstations: Set up and operate test stations to ensure the highest quality of electronic boards.
  • Diagnostics: Perform in-depth technical repairs and component-level diagnostics of electronic units.
  • Assembly: Install, mount, and adjust various parts, components, wiring, and harnesses using hand and small power tools.
  • Component Research: Assist in researching and sourcing components to address shortages.
  • Issue Reporting: Document and communicate recurring issues to the supervisor for continuous improvement.
  • Product Development: Contribute to product development, data management, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Technical Drawings: Create and modify assembly drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other design tools.
