ABOUT THIS POSITION


Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada


**This is in Individual contributor role selling our energy storage systems. **


Fluence seeks a Director of Strategic Sales – Americas with expertise in energy storage markets to expand and accelerate Fluence’s market share in the Americas region, primarily focused on Canada. This role demands a strategic, analytical mindset and demonstrated experience in sales and market development, preferably in energy storage or renewable energy sectors. In this role you will contribute individually, work across internal teams, and manage external relationships with third parties as you develop a pipeline of new customers in new verticals.


Responsibilities:

· Develops and implements sales strategies to achieve new customers, new markets and further cultivate existing customer relationships. Ensures that the sales team can embrace the strategy and that it is effectively coordinated with marketing efforts.

· Structures and develops cohesive sales strategies through careful analysis of customers, markets, and geographic territories.

· Develops and executes region sales growth strategies based on market insights and analytics to increase market share and revenue.

· Works with the Sales Team to understand and target customers’ needs and propose solutions to effectively meet customers’ needs.

· Monitor and report on the evolution of markets. Inform, advise, and collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, and with the Sales team, incorporating an analytical approach into growth plans.

· Conducts market research on competitors’ products and strategies to keep strategic sales and strategies on target.

· Collaborates with various departments throughout the company to continually improve processes, products, and quality in support of best business practices.

· Demonstrates the values and mission of Fluence Energy through open and honest communication with internal and external customers.

· Understand and influence market behaviors and perform early–stage new market entry planning and ongoing offer development. Innovate to unlock new markets and customer segments for Fluence products.

· Educate customers and stakeholders in key markets on the benefits of energy storage related products and services. Develop programs and processes to transition customers from early stages to meaningful sales opportunities.

· Perform comprehensive data analysis to identify market trends and opportunities and shape the strategic sales direction for Fluence in the Americas region (western hemisphere).

· Develop, support, and manage competitor intelligence and customer feedback activities to gain insights into market dynamics, competitive positioning, and growth strategy.

· Reinforce and deepen a culture focused on data-driven analysis, emphasizing analytical methods in business growth.

· Lead industry efforts in support of the energy transition while promoting and enhancing the value case for Fluence products and services.

What does the ideal candidate being to Fluence?

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in business, engineering, economics, or a related field with a strong analytical emphasis.
  • At least 10 years in growth-oriented roles, with significant experience in strategic selling within the energy storage or renewable energy sectors; plus, at least 2 years managing a team, either directly or indirectly.
  • Strong knowledge of market participants, stakeholder landscape, and energy storage customer segments across the region.
  • Proven ability in leveraging advanced analytics, market intelligence, and customer feedback for business expansion and strategy development.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills required. The candidate should be capable of creating compelling arguments and communicating them to both internal and external audiences.
  • Mastery in data analysis tools and methodologies, especially relevant to the energy market.
