THE ROLE
Zeta is seeking an experienced, director-level Retail SME to join our Retail Practice. This Director of Retail is a key role, supporting new logo sales to client selling & client partnerships/success from mid to C-Level executives while sharing retail thought leadership and actionable ideas pitching Zeta technology and services as the backdrop to drive their business. This person, will take an innovative, yet scalable approach to help both sellers (internal) and inspire marketers(external) influencing the relationship from buying to close, while harnessing the power of OneZeta to grow their business at scale.
We focus on creating BIG ideas to create a more impactful product unlocking stronger differentiation in the marketplace. We connect to retail trends and emerging narratives to support sales from narrative development to crystal clear presentation/slide development on why Zeta owns the retail marketplace. We engage the clients via client success and partnerships to become the trusted retail advocate and retail voice inside of Zeta. We also, support our US colleagues in heading up our center of excellence in retail and cultivating opportunities as discussions dictate.

The ideal candidate will bring a unique blend of proven retail knowledge from a working in retail, deep marketing expertise, analytical, critical thinking and knowledge of technology to connect the dots between the needs of clients and prospects to how Zeta can deliver.
Job Description:
- New logo development – work closely with sales organization to ‘live the brand’ and drive core slides and narrative supporting the sale in CRM
- Client business development—work closely with client success and client partnership teams by listening to strategies the retailer is trying to accomplish and then ideate on new ideas to sell, through account based marketing and build a narrative together that connects to the brands desires. This should culminate in new proposals and pitches for client cross sell/ upsell. All should be focused on improving ROI, rooted in data insight and focused on driving the desired customer behaviors.
- Support retail practice across OneZeta by participating in management of Center of Excellence and identifying and creating new retail opportunities across Zeta
- Work closely with the VP & L&D, and product marketing ensuring we have an understood GTM positioning and identify gaps as well as new positioning statements. Manage content within a (newly conceived) retail portal supporting all sales
- Constantly help evolve our retail offering by developing new use cases by product type and communicating and training across CRM team ultimately creating a roadmap to bundle and sell keeping Zeta ahead of the competition in both owned and paid channels
- Create retail content to help bolster the Zeta brand in the market
- Add retail POV to QBRs and attend as needed

- Passion and deep knowledge of retail, driving results, ensuring client satisfaction, and securing competitive wins
- Self-starter with ability to think strategically and respond tactically, garner internal support across the internal teams at Zeta
- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented, growing public company with high expectations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, self motivational skills, and analytical/planning skills
- Ability to develop, implement and manage key strategic initiatives with clients
- Experience with AI and big data platforms an advantage
- Strong work standards, impeccable integrity, grit and ethics
- Analytical skills and modeling experience a plus
- Email and/or CRM database experience a plus
Requirements:
- 7+ years of retail experience, working in retail, supporting innovation and transformation
- Strong understanding retail enterprises as well as technology used in supporting retail growth: CRM, loyalty, data (collected across enterprise) customer tactics used in customer journey mapping, the voice of the customer
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, including presentation creation and delivery at the C-suite level
- Track record of applying human-centered design, lean start-up and agile methods to problem solving and innovation with influence at the core
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and make positive impact across multi-disciplinary teams
- Understanding of enterprise technology including digital applications, SaaS and Cloud
- Ability to work with a degree of ambiguity and flexibility to re-frame and solve customer challenges
- Demonstrated experience working across digital marketing channels (email, social, mobile, paid media, search, etc.)
This is a remote role based out of the United States.

COMPENSATION RANGE
The compensation range for this role is $130,000 - $160,000 depending on location and experience.
