Director of Product

About you:

You are a proven product leader with a track record of bringing innovative hardware and software products to market at scale. You thrive in dynamic, high-expectation environments and set the pace for excellence—drawing on your experience at world-class organizations, leading consumer electronics companies, or top-tier medtech innovators. With a strong engineering background, you are equally comfortable in the lab, on the factory floor, or in the boardroom. You have navigated the full product lifecycle, from concept to commercialization. You bring urgency, grit, and the collaborative spirit of a founding member of a startup, inspiring teams to build something truly great.

What you will do:

• Set and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Vital Bio’s next-generation diagnostics platform, integrating both hardware and software components.

• Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the product lifecycle: ideation, design, development, regulatory submission, manufacturing scale-up, launch, and post-market optimization.

• Serve as a pace setter for the organization, establishing and upholding best-in-class product management processes and a culture of excellence.

• Collaborate with engineering, clinical, regulatory, commercial, and executive teams to ensure alignment and execution against ambitious goals.

• Shepherd new products through regulatory pathways (e.g., FDA 510(k), CLIA waiver), ensuring compliance and successful market entry.

• Leverage deep experience in both consumer and regulated environments to deliver products that delight users and meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

• Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscapes to inform product strategy and maintain a leading edge.

• Mentor and inspire product managers and cross-functional partners, fostering a growth-minded, resilient, and high-performing team.

• Act as a key external ambassador for Vital Bio, building relationships with partners, customers, and stakeholders to drive adoption and advocacy.

• Roll up your sleeves to solve tough problems, balancing urgency with the patience and discipline required to deliver breakthrough innovation in healthcare.

What you'll need:

• 10+ years of progressive product management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing both hardware and software products.

• Demonstrated success launching complex products at scale—ideally in regulated medical devices, diagnostics, consumer electronics, or high tech sectors.

• Deep understanding of the full product lifecycle, from concept through commercialization and post-market support.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to inspire and align diverse teams around a shared vision.

• Analytical, data-driven decision maker with a bias for action and a relentless focus on outcomes.

• Grit, resilience, and the entrepreneurial mindset to build something transformative.

• A passion for healthcare innovation and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
