Proof of work

The team

Payward Services is Kraken's B2B infrastructure platform — built on 15 years of operating history — that enables companies to add digital asset trading, stablecoin payments, custody, staking, lending, and funding rails to their own products through a single integration. Rather than stitching together multiple vendors, partners build on unified infrastructure where execution, custody, compliance, risk, and settlement work in concert.

Within Payward Services, Embed is the product line that powers trading experiences inside partner apps. We help fintechs, banks, brokerages, and platforms offer their customers digital asset trading — spot, derivatives, tokenized equities, recurring buys, limit orders — without building exchange infrastructure from scratch. Our partners' end users trade inside the partner's app; we provide everything underneath.

We're hiring a Director, Product & GM to own the Embed product line end-to-end. Reporting to the Global Head of Payward Services, this is a product-first leadership role. You'll define what we build, shape how partners integrate it, and work directly with clients to make sure the product works in real-world deployments. You won't carry a sales quota — but the products you ship will directly drive Payward Services revenue.

The opportunity
  • Own the Embed product line end-to-end, including strategy, roadmap, and execution across trading, custody (custodial + non-custodial), APIs, recurring/limit orders, xStocks, and derivatives (with the Derivatives team).

  • Build B2B2C trading infrastructure enabling partners (fintechs, banks, brokerages) to embed institutional-grade trading into their products.

  • Design systems across order management, execution, custody integration, compliance workflows, and trading UX/API patterns.

  • Drive partner-led product development, working directly with clients to translate requirements into scalable product decisions and unblock integrations.

  • Treat the product as the GTM, ensuring Embed is adopted because it integrates cleanly and solves partner problems.

  • Lead the full product lifecycle from discovery and scoping through build, launch, and iteration.

  • Manage a cross-functional pod (PM, design, engineering), setting priorities, removing blockers, and driving consistent delivery.

  • Own key metrics including partner adoption, integration velocity, trading volume, end-user activation, and revenue impact.

  • Partner with Sales and BD to support strategic deals through product expertise, demos, and custom integration planning.

  • Act as a central platform owner, collaborating with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Payments, and Custody to scale globally and balance partner needs with platform reliability and scalability.

Skills you should HODL
  • 10+ years of product management experience, with significant time spent building B2B2C infrastructure — ideally platforms that help companies add trading, brokerage, or financial services to their own apps

  • Deep experience with trading platforms or exchange infrastructure. You understand order types, execution models, custody, settlement, and what it takes to build trading products that work at scale. Prior experience at an exchange, brokerage platform, or trading infra provider is strongly preferred

  • Track record of shipping B2B products that partners actually integrate. You've dealt with the realities of enterprise integration — API design, onboarding friction, compliance requirements, multi-tenant architecture

  • Technical fluency. You don't need to write code, but you need to hold your own in architecture discussions, make informed build/buy tradeoffs, and challenge engineering when needed

  • Experience in regulated financial services. You've worked within compliance and licensing constraints and understand how they shape product decisions — especially across multiple jurisdictions

  • Strong product sense with commercial awareness. You lead with product, but you understand how product decisions drive revenue. You can connect roadmap choices to business outcomes without needing a sales quota to motivate you

  • Proven people leader. You've built and managed cross-functional product teams. You hire well, set high bars, and create environments where people do their best work

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity. Payward Services is scaling. You'll need to move fast, make decisions with imperfect information, and adapt as the business evolves
