Defines and implements the product development for alternatives Investment products, largely delivered via an offering memorandum. Innovates to develop new products and enhancements to existing ones. Collaborates with internal partners across the organization to take products to market, and manages all risks associated with products to ensure compliance, including risk reporting.

  • Execute strategic and tactical product plans, for designated products/services
  • Provide project management, facilitation and execution of project plans, in support of tactical initiatives designed to meet designated product goals and objectives, including but not limited to new product design, development and implementation
  • Manage and direct resources, build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders to support initiatives and ensure alignment.
  • Work closely with the Head of Strategic Initiatives from the Alternatives Investment team to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Liaise and consult with Product Team members, in the execution of product plans with primary responsibility for specific product initiatives
  • Cross train others in the Product Team to promote resilience and scalability
  • Maintain and update business and operational policies to incorporate new product offerings and product amendments.
  • Manage internal and external third party relationships related to designated products/services
  • Manage financial resources and budget constraints, in order to meet the financials goals of the designated products/services
  • Direct personnel to aid in accomplishing strategic and tactical product goals and objectives, across the organization
  • Participate in web site initiatives
  • Maintain data in MS excel based data templates, access and manipulate data from external sources such as Bloomberg, Index Providers etc.
  • Assist in supporting Continuous Disclosure requirements by providing or co-ordinating content and proofing of documents
  • Assist in writing commentary to support Products as necessary
  • Assist in the development of training and communication programs for line personnel, including but not limited to the coordination of training and sales teams
  • Complete assigned deliverables with little day-to-day management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

  • Reports to the Director of Product Development & Implementation
     

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSa)            Knowledge:

  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing or related field
  • Minimum 7 – 10 years of experience with a thorough knowledge and understanding of mutual fund products and the investment industry
  • Industry accreditations an asset (CSC, CFP, CIM, CFA, CAIA)
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of financial services industry including: products solutions, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, pooled funds and Alternative investments, industry and distribution channels

  • Demonstrated project management skills with strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated skill in MS Excel including ability in VBA for Microsoft Excel and familiarity with MS Access
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Salary:

$92,400.00 - $171,600.00

Salaried

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
